Economic freedom won out overwhelmingly. I thought you said a $25 minimum wage in Switzerland would be "soon" and was an example of why they kick ass. Looks like they will still kick ass without any government imposed price floors on wages.

I did lol at the NY Times libtarted spin on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't show up around here for awhile after he outed himself that he doesn't understand basic economics... shit that you learn in DECA in high school.

Looks like the poles won this round and the outcome won't be decided on the field, at least for now. The Colorado Buffaloes or the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Which one was the champion? Or was it both, or neither?

Economics is all about the zero sum game. And minimum wage exists for a reason. If people were inherently good we wouldn't need imperfect entities like governments stepping in and holding back the dirty deed doers among us. Like a lot of things in life, a few shitheads ruin it for everyone else. Henry Ford supported unbridled economic freedom where there are no bounds and limits. He also used slave labor in Nazi Germany to achieve his ends. Fucks like these will exist in every time period and laws should exist to restrain them from doing as they see fit. If left to their own devices without being partly bound and chained by laws, they would monopolize everything and you'd be working like a Chinaman for 50 cents an hour at the US Nike factory.

You said Switzerland was kicking ass. How can than be without a minimum wage law?

Still doesn't get it. Consider for a moment that we're not still passing around the same mammoth hide blanket.

The reference to a mammoth hide blanket overwhelmed the fallacy of your metaphor and earned you an awesome. However we're not passing around the same mammoth hide blanket because they are no longer a form of currency, and because mammoths were hunted to extinction because the demand outstripped the supply. Mammoths simply could not keep fucking each other at the rate required to satisfy the needs of the cavemen. Many cavemen gave their lives protecting the coveted mammoth hides they hoarded. Some were probably forced to watch their wives get pickled by horny raiders before they expired.

So too our modern currencies are in limited supply with demand constantly outstripping the supply. This creates an arena where everyone is an enemy competing for the same valuables. We are no different than caveman. Even hippies on acid can understand this simple concept. There's only so much hash to pass around when singing kumbaya. If a small group of hippies in the commune decided one night that they needed to get higher than the rest and took a bit more, the hippy sleeping a few tents down is going without because his brothers smoked it all.

Give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish.

WA State already has the highest minimum wage in the nation FWIW.

Milton Friedman likes to eat pies in the sky. They taste like cloud. Of course there isn't one fixed pie. New pies are created or change in size as economies evolve, inventions are created, etc. You haven't disproved that pies are zero sum in their nature. We all eat our pies at the expense of someone else somewhere down the line. That new job you got - 100 others were passed over and you're eating pie at their expense because you are there, you exist, you got the job and they didn't. That new invention that was created and added new jobs to the economy, it rendered some other past invention obsolete, and those whose job it was to manufacture it, research it, etc., lose their jobs at the expense of the inventor of the new invention and those associated with him. Even if the new invention adds jobs without adversely affecting some other cog in the machinery, people will swarm to the new pie and most of them will be left out as the pieces are snapped up. Every time you make a trade on the stock market, someone else is on the opposite end of the trade. If you win, he loses and vice versa. You grab that piece of pie and eat it or he will. You don't agree that this is reality?

Is the pie a locally produced, non-GMO, organic, gluten-free pie?
