We should just surrender to our NFL overlords and drop college football. Let them run the minor league and pay the players. I'm sure a multi billion dollar business owned by the most ruthless men on earth will give them a far better deal than old Wattsamatta UExtraChrisB said:Blow it all up and start from scratch
The problem with the college model is the inability to get a little pregnant. Not sure they could if they wanted due to federal funding. Pretty sure they don't want to anyway
Sure some major things could be worked out to make it even better at the college level and why not? The money is there and that is what it is used for. The other NCAA issue is equality among member schools. The NCAA exists because Washington doesn't trust Oregon not to cheat and vice versa. The presidents want a level playing field.
College football only works if you pay under the table like always. Lot of commentators find that distasteful. I don't. Its merit pay.
At any rate if we can stop just one moralizing sports writer from droning on about empowering and paying players then lets kill it with fire
Its not coming back. And Junior is going to understand the real world when he is told to report to minor league camp or get cut. -

The players need college football more than the colleges need the players. No one will give a shit when the Seattle Salukis play the Oregon Geoducks in a tilt at Mt Tacoma High schoolRaceBannon said:

Trump should have tweeted to cancel College Football!

CFB probably won't be going anywhere. The TV networks need it. The NFL doesn't want to run a minor league.
The place where local fans, the 99% of players who will never see an NFL facility, and TV networks meet, is where CFB will be.
If there is a tiny amount of players who think they are too good for 3-4 years of college, let them work that out with the NFL. Otherwise fuck off.
-
Why pay for something you get for free, but would the NFL invest in backing CFB player pay if they got input on coaching/training and greater transparency on players' health and character info? Not exactly a minor league, but I could imagine the NFL seeing value in being a stakeholder with some privileges in their de facto minor league.Kingdome_Urinals said:CFB probably won't be going anywhere. I’m listening to the Peristyle Podcast now and they mentioned that during the announcement that the PAC 12 canceled the season, there was NO coverage or commentary on the PAC 12 Network. JFC!
You know what was shown instead? Glad you asked...
