Kemp for Pippen Trade in 1994

I was doing some research last night on looking at the impact of this trade. Trading Kemp a 2nd team all NBA guy for Pippen a 1st team guy is a huge upgrade.
Since 1991 only three NBA teams have won a title without a first team all NBA player(2011 Mavs, 2004 Pistons and 1995 Rockets). Only the 1995 Rockets in the span won a title without a first or second team all NBA player(They had two third team guys).
Just something to look at and going forward this year.
Also for those doubting Pippen could have guarded a big here is a good highlight of him shutting down Barkley.

Barkley was the shortest power forward of all time. I'm not sure that means Pippen could have shut down Karl Malone.
I agree upgrading from a second team all NBA to first team all NBA is a big jump I don't think Pippen was a first team all NBA guy if he's playing in Seattle and out of Phil's system. But you guys have made a hell of a case for him, I'm reevaluating to some degree. I just fucking hate the dude. -
Oh I wasn't implying that at all. To be fair nobody was shutting down Karl Malone in the 90's either(unless it was the opponent called "free throw" in a big game).dnc said:Barkley was the shortest power forward of all time. I'm not sure that means Pippen could have shut down Karl Malone.

I would have only liked the Pippen trade with the condition of signing Grant who was coming off of a 15 PPG/11 RPG/ 3.5 APG and 2nd team all defensive selection. So Seattle's starting five would have had three top 10 all defensive players. -

If they could've signed Grant, it would have been awesome. They didn't even need someone as productive as him, just someone who can grab 8-9 rebounds, play decent defense, kick some ass, and score 10 points or so.
