But if they did, it would be pretty common, given the history of the use of that term with black people, for a negative inference to be drawn. There's a reason for it. When Bush Jr. was in office it was very common for leftists to refer to him as "Chimpy"
This was the apex of leftist humor during the Bush years.
When Obama took office I started calling him "O'Chimp" on the Woodshed as a way to tweak the leftists that posted there. Since their standard was to now call Presidents "Chimps" I just wanted to be part of the cool kid crowd.
