No guarantee next year plays out much better after a season with a new coach, new OC, reshaped OL, etc

The script says all 3 early entrants go undrafted, offensive genius Petersen gets out of the way, and dipshit Donovan gels the youngsters into UW’s best offense in a decade.

Classic. Everything that went wrong last season is now playing out in the draft. I hope all 3 go undrafted for leaving early.

This combined with Rapp sitting out the Rose means Penerman’s OKG philosophy was rotten

Also is that the greatest play of sosobees career? Delivering the phantom hitand fumble resulting in a defensive stand which kept the game from unraveling?

After he waited to hear his name called Thursday and Friday in the first three rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jacob Eason finally came off the board Saturday afternoon. With the No. 122 overall pick, the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the fourth round, but why did the former Georgia (2016-17) and Washington (2019) quarterback fall so far?

According to ESPN NFL insider Chris Mortensen, teams shied away from Eason for several reasons. While he stood out with his big arm and 6-foot-6 frame, Eason was unattractive to teams because of character issues, according to Mortensen.

"Well, guys make all good points — he has the physical attributes, Jacob Eason does, of being a first-round player," Mortensen said on ESPN's draft broadcast. "So why the fourth round? Well, as teams peeled back the onion on Jacob Eason, they found evaluations and information that his work ethic is an issue, accountability is an issue — there's a list of about four or five character flaws.

"The bottom line is that Eason will have a chance to be around true pros and learn what it's like to be one. If he's not the guy, they'll move on and find the guy. Rivers is basically on a one-year contract and Brissett only has one year left.

Under Frank Reich, an offensive-minded head coach who has been with the Colts since the start of the 2018 season after he previously served as a coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016-17, Eason has the tools to grow with young weapons around him. Indianapolis selected USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor in the second round Friday evening, adding to the youth movement of playmakers on offense.

"There's certain situations when quarterbacks get drafted into — they should not only be cheering for the fact that they got drafted, they should be cheering for the fact that they got drafted to the teams that they went to," Riddick said. "The same as the situation that (quarterback) Jalen Hurts is looking at, going to Philadelphia (in Friday's second round). It's the same thing when (quarterback) Patrick Mahomes was drafted by (head coach) Andy Reid in Kansas City (in the 2017 NFL Draft).

"It's the same thing here with Jacob Eason, going to play under Frank Reich. These are ideal situations, getting around the right culture, around the right general manager who knows that he has to do everything he can to provide a situation for you to thrive in and the Indianapolis Colts are doing that with the drafting of Michael Pittman and the drafting of Jonathan Taylor. That's all by design to help quarterback play out as well.

"This is a perfect situation for him. It could be a patient situation. They can sit and wait for him to develop, see if Philip Rivers can have one of those great years once again in a new environment. It's a win-win for everybody."

He destroyed some in garbage tim against Oregon in ‘16, TD behind the block. That’s about it.

Dan Marino dropped on character concerns

Pete floated the character concerns because Eason didn't live in the film room like Haener and lobbied for more receiver groups with Bynum, Puka, and Spiker and was told to wear it.

Weird how the offense averaged over 40 points the 3 games Puka played.

Ask Tua and Joe Burrow, quality WRs matter.

Doogs --you know who you are-- began Browning's Heisman campaign after the 2016 season.

Facts: we played Big Sky WRs and passed over attractive OC candidates for an assistant RB coach.

2 things can be true. Pete ran a crappy offense and Eason was a lazy, overrated quarterback.

Shitty players. Shitty offense and bitter coaches because Eason decided to leave. Maybe not a first rounder, Eason was our best QB since Pickett, and without Reggie Williams.

Yeah, he's immobile. So was Tom Brady.

Joe Burrow sucked until he didn't

See how you all like Sirmon and Morris. One of us has all the screenshots we need.

He was mediocre. Didnt come close to the hype. Yes he was immobile. His field vision was also poor, he had trouble putting touch on the ball, and his timing was often not great. Was he terrible? No. He was good...not great. He didnt have a ton of passion and probably, like many have suggested, didn't feel he had to put in the work to be great.

I dont understand the need for these mental gymnastics to try to prove that Eason was amazing but was cursed by everyone around him fucking up.

Marino's drop - to the bottom of the first round - was two things: (1) rumor he liked to do blow; and (2), my theory, a bad knee.

He was so fucking good his rookie year - actually better than all the QBs take before him (including Elway) - that it was like immediately across the League "we fucked up." '

By far my favorite QB of all tim.

Brady has the mind of a champion. He goes about meeting coaches and players and does all the big things and little things like it's an everyday thing, no big deal.

Eason? I've heard his dick has the mind of a champion.

... but big arm though ...

The thread is why Eason didn’t go higher. Brady went late because he was immobile, had a lackluster arm and a middling college career. Hence he went in the 6th.

Eason had a good —not great season —but was clearly trending up. He might suck in the NFL but why are we shitting on him for the sins of our dysfunctional program?

Pete and Gregory started Kyler Manu for never missing practice. In early season pressers, when asked why the younger more talented players sat, Pete’s excuse? they didn’t work as hard as the upperclassmen. We sucked because three shit try hards played while better players sat.

    Swell. Another molder of men.

Haener lived in the film room. So did Browning. Skinny, not as much. Pete cared and said so. A lot. Imagine Jake Haener at any NY6 team living in the film room. Tee hee.

Skinny left. Jimmy was pissed. Skinny passed over a much needed development year, not exactly a ringing endorsement for Jimmy’s new OC.

Coaches often cover their ass bus tossing their own players . Ask the guys who played for Tyrone. Better keeping your guys out of the NFL than explaining why you suck and need more time getting your guys in there.

Funny how Morris and Garber’s are allegedly film junkies but we pursued three transfer QBs—and whiffed. That should tell you all you need to know.
