Production is production. Winning and playing well makes a player good. Not their star ranking or raw talent. Eason disappointed are UW. He never showed himself to be a top notch college QB. -
Brady got pushed down because he got fucked around a bit at Michigan ... if I recall right he sat behind Brian Griese and then there was this goal of playing Drew Henson
For every Brady there is countless that you never hear about again ... so whatever.
The reason UW has gone after a grad transfer is because Sirmon has already tried to transfer when he was getting passed on the depth chart and I have serious questions as to whether he will ever be a good college QB. Moreover, Morris is another ??? mark that falls likely more into the career backup role than as a starter. That leaves you a true freshman in Garbers. I wonder again why UW is going after a transfer?
Eason’s biggest obstacles for the NFL is as follows:
1) He’s brutally bad against pressure ... NFL will exploit that
2) Rumors have it that he’s not the most diligent in the film room and in practice ... ain’t going to endear you to organizations or teammates
3) Motivation is a significant concern ... what I’ve heard suggests that he is not driven by football as anything more than a means to an end
Wish him the best but I suspect he will not have a memorable NFL career -
Awesome in Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.creepycoug said:
Marino's drop - to the bottom of the first round - was two things: (1) rumor he liked to do blow; and (2), my theory, a bad knee.RaceBannon said:Dan Marino dropped on character concerns
Not 5 rounds but still
He was so fucking good his rookie year - actually better than all the QBs take before him (including Elway) - that it was like immediately across the League "we fucked up." '
By far my favorite QB of all tim. -
Skinny left because he was always going to leave. No matter what.creepycoug said:Skinny left because UW hired a mediocre shit-talking defensive coordinator who also takes a boat to work.

He’s not that good. That’s why there was any competition to begin with.DoubleJDawg said:
Oh? Not a factor at all for a guy parachuting in to a potential starting role, in an offense so complex no QB outside of Kellen Moore can apparently run it?RoadDawg55 said:
The shit about practice reps has always been insanely doogish.DoubleJDawg said:
Have to think that’s what Eason is thinking right now, though it would have been hard to predict 1) Peterman giving up coaching after the Rose Bowl, 2) handing away half the practice reps to a non P5 QB, and 3) resolutely not playing the best WRs for 90% of the seasonHuskyJW said:I will die on this cross. He never should’ve played for Washington. He would’ve been a 3rd rounder or better if he would’ve come out last year.
To your point more broadly feels like he missed the last “big white qb regardless of accomplishment” draft last year - nfl teams seem to be more open to embracing a variety of styles and body types. Feels like he and family got convinced he could get drafted high on potential and physical tools alone, and just simply missed. Unfortunate we didn’t have a better alternative scenario lined up for him to stay - and I’m not sure he would have stayed with Donovan vs even a day 3 projection.
I wish our boy was a real gym rat and film nerd but he wasn’t, and every bit would probably have helped
I was close to a board apology after the BYU game.DerekJohnson said:

Who the hell am I kidding, no I wasn’t. But he did look like the QB I was hoping he would be that day. Then he proceeded to prove me right. -
I fell for the doog hype like I tend to do, but you were right all along. By the middle of the year, it was obvious he wasn’t as good as we needed him to be.MikeDamone said:RoadDawg55 said:

He played two seasons. In a vacuum he should have come back. He was by far our best option last year and would have been this year. In year six, Jake Haener shouldn't be in a position to win the starting job. Saban, Swinney, and Ohio State aren't afraid to change QBs. They also don't offer and roster Jake Haener or Bridge-GaddRoadDawg55 said:

We don't play the best players. Our new head coach chose an assistant RB to lead an already questionable offense than decided motherfucking Eason to scouts was a good idea. Brilliant. Give the kids more reasons to go elsewhere. It's already playing out and Jimmy just made it worse.
