Yes, I would pick the Clippers over OKC in a series right ... Clippers win in 6 games.
OKC basically goes as far as KD and Westbrook takes them and the real variable on their roster at this point is the play of Serge Ibaka.
1) Chris Paul is Chris Paul and the 2nd best player on the court behind KD - you pretty much know what you are getting out of him. Outside of KD, he's the best player on the court - everybody says so.
2) Blake's by far grown as a player this year and is a far better player now than he was in the past few years.
3) DeAndre Jordan I see playing with a ton more confidence this year and is doing a much better job of controlling the paint. Doc Rivers has made a world of difference in his psyche - everybody says so.
4) The supporting cast of the Clippers is much, much better with guys like Crawford, Reddick, Barnes, Colison, and "Big Baby" Ossai ... the bench is hungry and ready to rumble.
5) Chris Paul is a maestro of controlling the action of the game and will make the difference in the series ... I like the Clippers winning the series rather easily by an average score of 134-117. -
Not using this as part of the argument but this move was awesome

Paul is fucking nice. This thread got a little out of hand. I think his knee hampers him and he isn't quite as good as the talking heads say he is. He's still really good though.

for all you chris paul apologists defend those 2 crucial misses, cost them a chance to win the game

Talk about a flawed replay system deciding the game ... THAT changed the outcome of the game ... not the 2 missed free throws when they were down 3.
-
He played great before that, but being clutch matters. I don't think it's overrated at all, and I don't think Paul should get defended. He's never done shit in the playoffs.dhdawg said:for all you chris paul apologists defend those 2 crucial misses, cost them a chance to win the game
Until he does, he deserves what comes, just like LeBron did before winning. LeBron had multiple choke jobs, the biggest being the Dallas series.

How was it a flawed replay system? It was off Paul. That's exactly what the system is for. How the fuck do you even come up with that? The real deciding factor was Blake Griffin fouling out and only playing 19 minutes.Tequilla said:Talk about a flawed replay system deciding the game ... What's the doog term for a clipper? Clooper? JesusTequilla said:Talk about a flawed replay system deciding the game ... THAT changed the outcome of the game ... not the 2 missed free throws when they were down 3.

It's called Clipper fan since their entire history mirrors the Coogs and their forever ending penis envy of the Lakers just says it all.dhdawg said:

I didn't even think it was a foul. It was pretty minimal contact.RoadDawg55 said:

1) Blake Griffin fouling out in 19 minutes is a fucking joke ... not even Shawn Kemp was that FS.
2) There have been numerous examples since the replay system has come into play whether it be in the NBA or NCAA where a ref makes a call on a possession that doesn't turn the game into a free throw shooting contest and instead awards the ball in the direction of who was fouled. When you go to the replay, without the ability to make up for the fact that you didn't call for the foul you get the wrong outcome.
You could argue that Paul wasn't fouled but it was an absolute reach - but not a terrible reach. I understand an official deciding that he wasn't going to call a shooting foul in that situation since the Clippers were in the bonus but were instead going to give a sideline out of bounds play. Anybody that has ever played or officiated the game knows that these kind of calls happen and nobody ever really questions them.
I'm all for replay for where it makes sense. But let's not use replay to take away from common sense. -
Tequilla, I agree with some of your thoughts regarding replay. They overdo it, and the last 2 minutes of the game were kind of ridiculous, but the ball was off Paul, and you can't go back and call a foul (very ticky tack and not a foul). You can go back and see who it was off, and it was the correct call.Tequilla said:1) Blake Griffin fouling out in 19 minutes is a fucking joke ... not even Shawn Kemp was that FS.

My Clippers will be fine.

RD,
I agree with you in that they got the call right based on what the current rules are.
What I'm getting at there is that I would rather that an official looks at that play and decides that it's not enough to call a foul for but that given the contact it caused the ball to go out on the player that was fouled, and as such, even the calls out and just give a sideline out of bounds play.
I'd rather that we didn't live in a situation where officials aren't able to use their judgment in officiating games. -
I think they will too, but it's going to be tough to win one at Golden State.CuntWaffle said:My Clippers will be fine.
