Yes, right nowIf you think you’re going to have to fire them eventually, fire them now
-
Yes, right nowNever too early
-
Yes, right nowWe are a women’s rowing school. Who gives a fuck?
-
No, give him one more yearWhy spend the money on a buyout when we can use it for football.
-
Yes, right now
This. We are going to suck next year and it will be a real topic that even doogs will consider. Might as well just do it now.whlinder said:If you think you’re going to have to fire them eventually, fire them now

No, he needs several more years to clean up the programFiring him this soon would appear racist

No, he needs several more years to clean up the programGet the facility built....then fire him
-
Yes, right now
Isn’t it being built anyways? That’s not a reason to keep a coach. He’s not getting fired so there isn’t much point in hoping for it, but he absolutely should. He’s basically starting from scratch next year in year 4. The program and roster was better in Hop’s first year than it will be next year. That’s a huge problem.Dugdawg said:Get the facility built....then fire him
I’ve said it a bunch already, but last in the conference with a team that had hype and started the year off well, along with zero commits for next year makes it an easy decision to fire him. We will regret not doing it sooner. We are just pushing back the inevitable. -
No, give him one more yearGiven what we have coming back, it is going to be a rough year. I will say 20 wins at best and on the tourney bubble entering our conference tournament. Let's see after next year. Before firing somebody, you have to have a guy in mind and I don't know who that is right now.

Wish we would have hired Eric Musselman.KrunkJuice said:Given what we have coming back, it is going to be a rough year. That part can be fixed. Start researching and going thru the backchannels to find a new coach.KrunkJuice said:Given what we have coming back, it is going to be a rough year. No, give him one more yearI wouldn’t care if they fired him after this year though

No, give him one more yearWaffled between yes and no. Question is, is Hop going to be just a continuation of Syracuse, or adapt.
-
Yes, right now
A continuation of Syracuse? They aren’t ever getting last in the conference.huskyhooligan said:Waffled between yes and no. Question is, is Hop going to be just a continuation of Syracuse, or adapt.

Cohen should have somebody in mind. That’s her job. Who gives a fuck if KrunkJuice from HardcoreHusky has someone in mind.KrunkJuice said:Given what we have coming back, it is going to be a rough year. There are a dozen good up and coming coaches in any given year. Go get one. -
No, give him one more year
When you've lost KrunkJuice from Hardcore Husky, you've lost AmericaFremontTroll said:

No, give him one more yearWhats funny is if this was football, we wouldn't be calling for Petersen's job but his assistants. Who on the staff needs to go? Hop is a defensive guy and the defense really isn't the problem. Our offensive blows and our guard play is bad. Is that on Dollars or Conroy? We can blame Rice for Bey. This year is only a disaster because of PG depth. We would be in the tourney if Quade could pass a fucking class.
-
Yes, right nowYes - yesterday.
Steal the Cuog ala Marv Harshman. Their overall talent level is laughable for a Pac 12 team aside from Elleby. But Cuog bitch slapped Hop twice this season.
-
Yes, right now
The assistants primary job is to recruit. Zero commits means they absolutely suck at it.KrunkJuice said:Whats funny is if this was football, we wouldn't be calling for Petersen's job but his assistants. Who on the staff needs to go? Make Hop fire the assistants himself and then fire him. Basic corporate move.

No, he needs several more years to clean up the programNo. Don't waste the buyout money on basketball. Save the cash for football.

No, give him one more yearSave the buyout cash for football is a funny comment, but there is some truth there.
Mainly, the collapse this year was so sudden and extreme that I can't help but think it's possible more is at play than just bad coaching.
Something is terribly broken, no doubt, and it's alarming the lack of offensive scheme, player development, and roster management, but let him bite the bullet next year in a do or die season.

1) we? beat baylor! people forget that!
2) if we shitcan hops, who we gonna hire? UW sport's recent hires havent been blockbuster, who'd we? get?
3) where's the option for idgaf about hoops? -
No, give him one more yearI know we're not UNC by any stretch of the imagination, but Roy Williams just went first to worst this year with a more stacked roster than UW.
Roy has earned the benefit of the doubt unlike Hop, but when you fuck with one and dones this can happen. I agree with Road the recruiting strategy needs to change for a program like UW. -
No, give him one more year48% yes, 30% one more year

Yes, right now
WSU is 6-10 in conference.PurpleThrobber said:Yes - yesterday.

Dude is better than Hop but that doesn't make him good.
