Wilson is more focused on winning consistently. Kaepernick might have more talent overall, but no one works harder than RW ( I like to call him that). Kaepernick can't consistently hit his second option, not counting dump off screens. The NFL is catching up to his running ability. It's still a threat, but he won't do any better than Michael Vick at this rate. on the flip side, he's only really been a starting quarterback for a year and a half. Guys used to get 3 years and a chance to ease in (which I guess he's technically had). So maybe he gets better at reads and improves, but I really don't get the impression he's highly intelligent, he's not a pure passer, and as a person labeled a 12, he's not scary at all.

Apparently Kaepernick scored a 37 on his Wonderlic (same as Andrew Luck). I think he's smarter than he lets on.

In Kaep's case you can't deny that he's a front runner. I'd love to see his stats when his teams are up by double figures vs when the game is within 7 points or trailing.
He flat gave away that NFC championship game in the 4th quarter. -
Maybe on defense but on offense SF was better at pretty much every position minus RB. Their receivers were a lot better than ours (minus Harvin) and their O-line was one of the best in the league. The 49ers were doing jack shit on offense and were fortunate to have 17 points at the time thanks to Kap's breakaway run and the lucky TD heave. I love the "what if" scenarios and how it comes down to one pass. Sure the Hawks had a lucky TD on that 4th down but the 49ers were very fortunate on those two TDs. They play that game again and the 49ers could be down 16-6 or 17-10 late in the 4th.
The point about Gore is the key. He was totally shut down in that game. If I were the 49ers I'd draft Sankey. -

Seattle is a much better defense. SF was a better all-around offense, but Kaep didn't hold them back in the NFC title game, dude. He put the team on his back and was running in 20+ yard chunks against a historic defense. SF should have kept pounding the rock and running Kaep, but Gore was doing jack shit and Kaep can't take a beating, so I can see why the OC was throwing the ball.
Kaepernick didn't cost them the NFC title game. SF's o-line and Gore did. Kaep had like 90% of their rushing yards, which is pathetic. He should never have been throwing on Sherman and Co. to begin with. -
