Haters. Northern Virginia is tits. I don't hate Democrats with the burn of a thousand suns like some of you, but I am wary of them fucking up VA now that they're in power.

I need globalism where I live so that narrows the list considerably. Seattle used to be on that list but these days.... yeesh. Maybe Raleigh (though not quite global). Or ATL (but ugh worse humidity). I would personally probably prefer to move abroad, like Auckland or Brisbane or Singapore or Nice or Krakow.

I like the different backgrounds, cuisines, economic opportunities, accents, life experiences. I like being able to easily travel wherever I want. I like the complexity of the world.

of all the places I have lived - San Diego, Denver, Seattle, Baltimore, Huntsville, Wichita - in my travels stay away from
    1. Wichita - twice I lived there and twice on business trips. The people are strange and not much to do. Flat - if someone farts in Winnipeg a wind blows thru Kansas. The Ourkansas river gets to be 95 degrees in the middle of summer. That is not a river to me.
    2. Baltimore - Watch the TV show Homicide - no need to say more. Good Italian food the best I have ever eaten
    3. SD - California and too crowded - best weather I have ever been in
    4. Denver - lots to do the winters are killers. Used to set my watch when the thunderstorms rolled in off the mountains at 5 pm daily in summer. Maybe outside in a smaller town in Colorado would be OK
    5. Huntsville, Alabama. Loved it, enough to do, great golfing, water everywhere, best BBQ (white sauce), and easy to get anywhere quickly. Vacationed on the gulf coast, went to Tennessee, Ga. etc - stayed at Talladega but not for a big race. People were a bunch of rednecks so I fit right in. Golfed with these two black guys who made sure I didn't get into too much trouble - they would not go golfing with me to Arab.
    6. Seattle - left there 12 years ago - nothing more to say about that place.
    7. @Doog_de_Jour 10 acres for sale in Lebam
I actually loved the south, short and crazy weather in winter, kinda humid but not too bad. Maryland weather just sucked as did Kansas

Cool. And to add. I like the Redsk...., er uh Redstorms chances to improve in ‘20.

And some accents ARE just captivating to me for real. I don’t really have a favorite language or accent. But if I did, a female southern accent that doesn’t screech. And a hot Hispanic speaking English as a 2nd language. Arabic, Farsi or whatever language they speak in the ME is too fast and angry.

French is annoying. Italian spoken by males is a very punchable tone as well.

Fuck VA. Bunch of fucking traitors. WV stayed loyal to the Union.
    This ain’t your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great granddad’s Virginia.

    It's called the Tug River.

This is true. For those that haven’t spent time there, Appalachia is really something. Never seen so many poor white people in my life.

I’m a pretty nondescript looking white guy and I got stares like I was a fucking alien when I walked into a Walmart in Louisa,KY. All because I’m not fat as fuck and missing half my teeth.

    Ummmm, Bellingham is an absolute liberal SHIT HOLE! Here is why;
    - They are putting out their own Green New Deal which is forcing homes to be carbon neutral in a few years. This means to build a home you cannot have any fuel other than Electricity in your home. If you sell your home, it must be converted to carbon neutral before a sale can occur. This means all the old pre-50s/60s homes that would be hell to remodel will need to be gutted and updated to electricity. They are stripping the market and getting worse.
    - They are getting ready for a rent cap, meaning that the rent is set and landlords are forced to be below that.
    - They are also going to put into affect that landlords must pay all utilities for their renters.
    - 60%+ of the residents in Bellingham are rentals.
    - They can't handle their own homeless problem.

Bellingham is full of stupid effing WWU graduates and liberal self fart sniffers. Doubt it, have fun reading this: https://nytimes.com/2020/01/05/us/bellingham-natural-gas-ban.html

Information I have provided is from a Bellingham Real Estate pro.

Don't go to Bellingham, it is trash... plus you have to deal with Canadians being idiots to buy shit from us because their own country is so effing corrupt in their own economy.

    I second this Motion.

I hate people as much as @MikeDamone does. Pompous rich people who think they are god's gift to skiing even worse. Sun Valley and the Throbber do not abide. Fuck those guys. Give me jeans and some K2s, a rickety ski bus and it's all good, man.

    (spoiler)

Alpental it is, then. Fuck it.

The rich dopes never got to me over there. The Valley has too much history and too many ghosts with way, way bigger balls than the Hollywood and Wall Street fags who tried to spoil it in the 00s with their faggy, Aspen-like conferences and shit. Willis & Demi were the worst of the bunch, by far. Before getting banished to Hailey, Willis opened The Dynamite Lounge in Ketchum, and nobody patronized it, and I mean NO-BODY. Place was deader than a frozen whore in a snow bank.

Word was that he tried to get his Hollywood buds to show up and ignite interest in the place, but only Arnie showed, then left after about 45 mins.

Whiskey Sours and a thick steak at the Pioneer was the shit BITD. I may fly back there, soon, just for dinner.

All my brags are humble, btw. As you can tell.

Never in a million years would the Throbber ski Alpental. Never. Never skiied Crystal either and Baker only once. Couldn’t deal with the Cascade concrete.

Interior BC, North and Central Idaho, Montana. Bachelor solid too.

Should have hit Yellas home turf in Utah but the knees have given out.

Sun Valley is cool. Just not my jam. I like the true Idahoans instead of the ones who bought their way in.

I love WV. It helps I'm related to half of the eastern panhandle, but . I'll be out there in September. To quote a relative who lives in WV and drove into VA for work, "WV prices, with VA wages." Pepperoni rolls for life! Their property taxes are insanely low. They also hand out guns at town festivals. Also watch your speed in Wardensville.

    I'm sold.

Totally concur with Balmer's Italian food. By FAR the best Italian food the Throbber has ever knocked back. Kind of get a boner thinking about the Bookmaker salad at Sabatinis. Little Italy was actually a pretty nice neighborhood in an otherwise shithole town.

And not to be outdone by @LebamDawg - for @Doog_de_Jour, there's 10 acres adjacent to the G&R Compound for sale. But I suppose you and Mrs. Throbber v2.0 have already walked the property and picked out a site for your dream home.
