The in State kid that grew up watching Husky Football and has a 2.8 - 3.4gpa is not getting in anymore. When my dad went to UW in the late 70’s, that’s what the majority of his frat brothers probably were.
UW wants the out of state and foreign money. The kids (specifically makes) going to UW now aren’t like the ones that went from 1970-2000.
The students in the end zone hurts too because it lessens the experience for students. UW has done a horrible job of doing the little things that create fans for life from their student base.
@creepycoug how do they feel about the Jack Canes down there in the Caribbean?

This is true. I didn't get my Husky Hatred behind Kane Hall at the hands of Yella and all his varsity buddies. But both Ann Arbor and Madison are surprisingly good small cities with plenty to do. They are islands in a sea of shit.
There's a plenty to do if you don't care about football. Not as much as in Miami or So Cal, but it's still there if you don't want to watch sports.
The point is that Michigan is a school with a strong sports culture that values football. The fact that it's an elite university has done little to change that. -

It is unfortunate. Those kids should be able to go to a State school. They would do fine. 3.2 while playing sports or having outside activities are relatively intelligent people that aren’t obsessed with their grades. -
I was out of state. Only had to meet in-state criteria, however, for being a legacy. I was on the bubble though so row boat used on of their spots to make it hunret that I'd get in.RoadDawg55 said:
