I was afraid that was going to be wasted

I’m not sure if he’s a great coach, but he does do some things very well. His OL background makes him prioritize the line and be able to get the prospects he wants. Oregon has definitely gotten tougher and more physical since he took over, which is huge and creates a consistent recipe for winning.
That's basically my take on the coaching side. He seems to be very intentional in driving the program in the direction of his vision. That's a start. Can he out-Belichick the real smarties in the game? Don't really know. Can he make a good hire? He's made one with Avalos. He has to do it again now.

I do agree that breaking in an almost entire new line will be a big deal. Throckmorton gets most of the pub after Penis but I've said the guy they'll miss terribly is the center. He's a really good one and those guys don't grow on trees any more than elite left tackles do. I also think they'll miss Troy Dye. The kid is a player. Super rangy and all he does is make plays. He's also a clear alpha leader on that team. You need guysms like that, especially in close games on the road. Guys that show up. Guys that make plays, like high pointing a ball with a a club on one of your mits while you're falling backwards. He'll be missed and hard to replace.

I think we will be better than them next year. Replacing 4 OL and your QB isn’t easy. They are upgrading their talent, but that isn’t immediate as we have seen first hand.

On the other hand, I thought we would win the last two years and we shit ourselves and lost.
Doesn't UW replace 3 OL starters and likely their QB?

Yes. Our guys suck tho along with the rest of our offense so it’s probably not much of a loss.

Replacing Center has proven to be an insurmountable task for us as well.
