Unique Culture Problem at UW

14 players sitting out so far this year. 2 of them are our fierce DAWGS. Last year about 16 not including TRap who sat out without having the guts to say it publically.

"Its the Las Vegas bowl"

Shut up or they shouldn't have played against eastern or Hawaii either. Actually why not sit out all non conference games?

Tray I get because his back could probably go out at any time

    Fuck Hunter

It’s not like Hunter has torn his acl or another ligament in his twice at UW or anything...

Tray should have retired. That’s on him. Pete shouldn’t be depending on a potential cripple. That’s on Pete. Fuck Pete for this season.

It’s a meaningless game, why should he play?

Yeah and if Hunter blew his knee out for good last year you'd be fine with the Uni pulling his scholarship then right? Cause that's what's best for the school so don't judge them right?

That’s not even the same argument??

It’s the fucking Vegas bowl. If Hunter blows out his knee again he’s losing a lot of money. It’s not the rose bowl. He has a history of knee issues. He’s not gaining anything by playing. I’d prefer he play. But we aren’t playing fucking Bama like Michigan is either. We are playing a MWC school.

OP calls it "unique" when it's fairly widespread.

OP uses Michigan as apparent example of a better culture when Michigan had 3 players sit out the Peach Bowl (actual NY6 bowl) just last year.

But surely Harbaugh hates it right? - “That was their decision and we respect it,” Harbaugh said. “I have respect for their (decision). That’s the decision for them to make.”

Ok, but the other players surely hated it, right? - “As a locker room and just as a team, especially a defense, we understand the opportunities those guys have outside of football and outside of Michigan football,” said cornerback David Long, who says he plans to play in the Peach Bowl. “I definitely respect that. I respect that to the fullest.”

Vegas, baby! 7-5. Pathetic waste of what could have been an amazing season. "Imagine caring about this"

You are special if you think that's what all the players actually think.

It is unique in that only a few players every year do it.

That’s different. That’s the fucking Rose Bowl. Rapp is a fag for sitting out.

Play the fucking game. Go get insurance if you're going to fret over injuries. You know 60% of these guys would blow all pay out money by 27 anyway. On hoes, booze, clubs, and carz

You say that as if it's a bad thing.

Can anyone tell me why they sit out the bowl games and no regular season games?? Why is there a distinction?? What if huard comes in plays 2 years then sits a year waiting to get picked? Wheres the line???

3 full years is what they're on the hook for. Schools are on the hook for 5 if the player wants it regardless of how good they end up being.

Like I said if Hunter wasn't able to come back from his knee injury he wouldn't have been kicked to the curb. Loyalty should go both ways and anyone who thinks their isn't a least some players upset with people sitting out then you've never been inside a locker room.

    TIA for the FO BTB

They sit bowl games because it’s closer to the combine and all that than the regular season games.

You have a lot more time to recover getting hurt in October than December/January.

    Good point.

Maybe colleges should push for the combine to be moved back.

There really is no reason why there is so much time between the combine and the draft.

Can you list the 16 and where they were ultimately drafted? I think that would help determine whether it was worth sitting out.

Fuck off. If he caught 10 balls for 150 yards it would absolutely help his draft stock.
No it wouldn't. He's locked in as a top 60 pick as long as he passes his medical.
