Can anyone tell me why they sit out the bowl games and no regular season games?? Why is there a distinction?? What if huard comes in plays 2 years then sits a year waiting to get picked? Wheres the line???

3 full years is what they're on the hook for. Schools are on the hook for 5 if the player wants it regardless of how good they end up being.

Like I said if Hunter wasn't able to come back from his knee injury he wouldn't have been kicked to the curb. Loyalty should go both ways and anyone who thinks their isn't a least some players upset with people sitting out then you've never been inside a locker room.

    TIA for the FO BTB

They sit bowl games because it’s closer to the combine and all that than the regular season games.

You have a lot more time to recover getting hurt in October than December/January.

    Good point.

Maybe colleges should push for the combine to be moved back.

There really is no reason why there is so much time between the combine and the draft.

14 players sitting out so far this year. 2 of them are our fierce DAWGS. Last year about 16 not including TRap who sat out without having the guts to say it publically.

    "Its the Las Vegas bowl"

Shut up or they shouldn't have played against eastern or Hawaii either. Actually why not sit out all non conference games?

Can you list the 16 and where they were ultimately drafted? I think that would help determine whether it was worth sitting out.

    Fuck Hunter

It’s not like Hunter has torn his acl or another ligament in his twice at UW or anything...
Hunter has looked like an animal and recovered just fine

    Adams not so much
It’s a meaningless game, why should he play?
Did you not read the post?? Why play any games. Stupid argument you are part of the problem
Uhhh because Hunter is not helping his draft stock in this game??? Rapp was one thing. This is another.
Fuck off. If he caught 10 balls for 150 yards it would absolutely help his draft stock.
No it wouldn't. He's locked in as a top 60 pick as long as he passes his medical.

Find it funny how fans bitch and complain about players sitting out pointless bowl games but say nothing about the coaches that leave right after the season. And can we please stop this BS narrative about Rapp, there was no way he was going to be able to play in that game and the UW coaches knew it. His combine was prove that he was in no way healthy and it cost him millions in signing bonus money.

Not how it works. One game against mountain west competition isn't going to improve his draft status but you know what will? A clean physical.

I find it funny that bowels are pointless now, after being used for decades as a prop for success.

BTW did anyone catch the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl with two 6 loss G5 teams?

Again a slippery slope. Every player should quit the season after they have a good game? Show some good film in the best game of the season then just step out because all you can do is tread water and hurt yourself.

No, when you already have 12 games on film, a 13th game isn't going to help or hurt your draft stock. All the players sitting out have shown they can play at a high level for a season so they don't need a bowl game. A guy like Eason who has been inconsistent all year and coming off a bad second half of the season could use a nice game but it's not going to effect him much either way.

Bowl games have always been useless, most bowl games are only good for the 15 practices and that's it. The players are finally realizing it and they are making informed decisions about there future. Mike Norvell literally took the Florida State job right after Memphis won the conference and the next day he was at a press conference getting introduced as the new head coach of Florida State while his team was selected for the cotton bowl. Yet I see no one complaining or bitching about him.

I bitched about Norvell, turned to my wife that day and said....Norvell, "What an asshole"

This does not address the fact that it's a slippery slope. Conference championship game is an "extra" game as well.

It can help. Good games against anyone help a player’s draft stock. I get what your point is, but to say there is no way it helps just isn’t true.
