Nobody is bashing Mario. As Ive been saying on twitter, he knows how not to crash the Ferrari. That doesnt make him a great coach though, which a lot of quooks can’t wrap their heads around. Neuheisel got 10 wins and a Rose Bowl with some good players and nobody out here is calling him a great coach. There is also some doogy whining and sour grapes lurking around too and it's not hard to see. This isn't a unified take. The "Washington does it the right way" and "Washington plays with class" crowd of morons are never very far away. Even Wilberhooks, who is not a doog, had a Freudian "get your hands dirty with Oregon" comment in an otherwise good post. You're either breaking the rules or you're not. Period. Recruiting is used car salesmanship. All manner of shit gets said, you'd better believe your slick new smart ass coach who clearly knows how to run his mouth will say things to deliver the goods that might not make you proud.
Don't kid yourself; that line of narrative is skrong, particularly in the PNW. For some reason, USC gets a pass up here on pretty much everything. Maybe that's connected to the respect thing. I don't know. -

I’m not sure if he’s a great coach, but he does do some things very well. His OL background makes him prioritize the line and be able to get the prospects he wants. Oregon has definitely gotten tougher and more physical since he took over, which is huge and creates a consistent recipe for winning.WilburHooksHands said:
