We will now lose this week for sure
-
Will the bored still obsess over Eason if we lose and he throws another pick 6?
-
Yes because the pick 6 will be because Fuller/Bacellia didn't go get the ball.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Will the bored still obsess over Eason if we lose and he throws another pick 6?

That was a big win for Rick in 99. First win as Husky coach after an 0-2 start and against his old team.
-
Losses to BYU and Air Force (again). Game vs AFA was a blowout until Paul Arnold ran a kickoff back.RaceBannon said:That was a big win for Rick in 99. First win as Husky coach after an 0-2 start and against his old team.

Feel free to join us in the 4 win club whenever you see fit.

That’s pretty bad. UW has had a few shitty team in the last 9 years. If UW wins can we strut around like the duckade as if it’s some big accomplishment?

You didn’t get on board the Big Dick @dflea train?PostGameOrangeSlices said:Will the bored still obsess over Eason if we lose and he throws another pick 6?

Or because He locks onto his receivers and can’t read a defense.Bread said:

People forget that game in Boulder in 2000 was also a mother fucker.RaceBannon said:That was a big win for Rick in 99. First win as Husky coach after an 0-2 start and against his old team.

I vividly remember Rick taking the microphone at the Fifth Quarter. He didn't even wait for Swartz to ask questions. Rick launched into a 5 minute speech befitting a pep rally.RaceBannon said:That was a big win for Rick in 99. First win as Husky coach after an 0-2 start and against his old team.

Meh. Trajectories and timing. He took over a machine at Colorado and ran it into the ground before doing the same at UW. I get that he opened up access to the program making it fun again and giving him credit for a Rose Bowl win with Lambo's players, but he left Colorado, UW and UCLA damaged. Bad head coach. Nuff said.RaceBannon said:That was a big win for Rick in 99. First win as Husky coach after an 0-2 start and against his old team.

All Race said that it was a big win. He didn't proclaim Rick as a Hall of Famer.Southerndawg said:

He didn’t run Colorado into the ground. Barnett has a great season with Rick’s guys in 2001. It was trending down but they didn’t end up sucking. They were up and down.Southerndawg said:

2 things from this thread.
Rick ran UW into the ground, though the team that he left Gilby after he was fired a month before the season had a Heisman candidate at QB, and an All American candidate at WR, was preseason #14, and Gilby lost 6 gaymes with it.
And it's obvious James never had to compete with a GOOD Colorado squad. -
Just the national championship Colorado teamAlexis said:2 things from this thread.

Rick was nothing special but he would have done better than 6-6 with that team. Gilby was unbelievably bad. Him and Ty ran UW into the ground, not Rick.Alexis said:2 things from this thread.

Gilby and Ty were awful head coaches, the worst Husky Head Football Coaches in my lifetime, but that slide started with Rick. Under his watch, the team morphed into a Charmin soft shell of its former self. I don't hate the guy, but failing to recognize the damage he did and the downward trend he started is a bit puzzling.RoadDawg55 said:

Rick didn't start any slide. Lambo started the slide.Southerndawg said:

Rick inherited a 6-6 team. Lambo inherited a team that had won the conference three straight years.
Lambo's best season was a 7-4-1 conference co champ that didn't go to the Rose Bowl and got plunged by fucing Iowa in the Sun Bowl. Rick's best season was an 11-1 Rose Bowl champion.
Lambo's average finish was 3.66 in conference.
RN's average finish was 2.5.
Lambo's highest end of year ranking was 15. Rick's was 3.
By literally any measure Rick outperformed Lambright.
And before you give me the "Rick won the Rose Bowl with Lambright's players but started falling apart after that" nonsense UW was 14-10 in Lambo's last two seasons, and 6-6 in his final year. Both worse than any of RN's single or two year marks. Lambo finished worse than RN did.
And please let's not even pretend like Rick inherited better talent than Lambo did.
Rick wasn't a great coach and he doesn't deserve some bust on Mount Rushmore. But out of the four coaches that came after 12-0 and preceded and/or achieved @owen12 he's easily the one least to blame for said failure.t
Which means he isn't to blame for it all.
Lambo started the slide, Gilby accelerated it and Ty finished it.
The worst you could say about RN is that he didn't do enough to fix the slide that Lambo started.
RN wasn't the problem. -

Rick is the best HC UW has had since Don James.
Pete will probably pass him, but as it stands right now, nope. So far Pete is better than Sark who was better than Ty. -
