The fuck is an NIT?
-
I hope the CBI and NIT snub them. Worst case scenario is Romar wins the CBI.
-
Pretty sure CBI selects only from the teams willing to pay the 75k entry fee.
-
Nope, not watching, I have no interest in second rate college basketball.

So you gotta call someone a fag(75K) to enter?sarktastic said:Pretty sure CBI selects only from the teams willing to pay the 75k entry fee.

Pay-to-play....
What. A. JOKE
"Look y'all, we're the 101st best team and we only had to pay a $75,000 entry fee!" -
I hope the nit passes on us. It will be hilarious seeing doogs crying and giving reasons why we should've gotten picked over team X
-
You can't lose in the first round of the Pac-12 tourney and expect to make the NIT.
If Romar was serious about post season play he would have had those boys ready. -
no. The CBI is gheyHe_Needs_More_Time said:

The NIT used to be as prestigious as the NCAA Tournament until the late 70s? I have no fucking idea why (paging @RaceBannon and @Tailgater )

From 1953-1974 the tournament field varied from 22-25 teams. In 1979 it was expanded to 40 teams. A lot of good teams were available to make a quality tournament back in those daysFire_Marshall_Bill said:The NIT used to be as prestigious as the NCAA Tournament until the late 70s? "During coach Lorenzo Romar’s 12-year tenure, the Huskies have failed to play in a postseason tournament three times following the 2002-03, 06-07 and 13-14 seasons."

Looks like OSU will be the team that the doogs say we were snubbed for. This is all dumb though, who wants to watch that pos tournament anyways? We're mediocre at basketball because we have a mediocre coach. Nothing more to see.

I kinda think SMU got screwed worse than when UW won the conference and didn't get in. I like how the committee claims they've stopped paying attn to "what have you done lately" but seems to really despise first round conference tournament losses. Goes to show why more than a few coaches have been vocal on why they don't like them.

If I didn't know any better, I'd actually assume that our AD cared about winning. You'd think woody would be pissed off and not want to reward a shitty team by letting them play in some worthless tournament when the fact is they'd rather save the money to send the women's softball team to another tournament. But if they WERE actually serious about winning, they would have a search committee hard at work right about now.

Nobody ever gets truly screwed as in "there's no way that ever should have happened," but as far as truly surprising snubs go, I think both were up there. My ultimate point being that the SMU one was more surprising.allpurpleallgold said:

SMU went 12-7 in the #6 conference in America and played a horrible nonconference schedule:no_uh said:

The fact that they were close to making the field further proves that the tournament should be shrunk back down to 64 teams. -
It's a pretty decent conference that has multiple title contenders. Certainly, their non-conference schedule is the ultimate justification. Still, you are way off base if you think that it wasn't a surprise or their consideration is reason that the field should be reduced. SMU swept UCONN, beat Memphis, and curb stomped Cincy. Pomeroy has SMU at 32. I'm not in the minority here. NC State? BYU? Explain those...TierbsHsotBoobs said:

I have no justification for including any of those teams. The whole field is a #fuckingdreckfest after the 4th seed line.no_uh said:
