No. He never sacked up and told us how many wins and losses we're supposed to have with our "middling" talent.

I was speaking to your unrealistic expectations, not something Sark may have said.

    What are your realistic expectations?
Similar to every other middling team, with talent and experience holes, that hires an improvement at head coach bent on changing the culture.

I expect some players doogs believe should be All-Americans based on their star value and press clippings, to get cut within the next 7 months as Peterman changes the culture, causing us to lose a game or two we probably should win.

So you look at this schedule and see 8-5, because Peterson needs to change the culture?

how about we just see who Peterson lines up with first before we go awarding his kick as presser another off season Natty?

I think the opposite would happen. It would shape the team and make the rest of the 80+ scholarship players that much more stronger.

They would realize play time is over and it's time to start treating like this a fucking job.
Yeah....see how well the team played in the bowl game? BYU was the 2nd best bowl opponent (according to the metrics) for the pac-12.

Let's hope they have that mindset for the 2014 season.
I liked how Sanky, Price, ASJ played in the bowl game under Tui. I thought they were difference makers in the outcome of the game on offense... and Tui called a great game.

When you shed talent, until you replace that talent, it's going to be tough to compete for a Pac North Championship... just like every other team that replaces a low performing coach.

I hate Sark and he did underachieve, but going 9-4 with all 4 losses to top 25 teams is not really low performing. The talent is there, but the team underachieved. Of course, it will be hard to win a Pac North Championship. It's always going to be hard, but we should compete for it right away. Oregon hasn't won the North 2 years in a row despite being a top 10 year.

Not that we are Ohio State, but Urban Meyer came in after a 6-6 season and went 12-0. Ohio State had talent. UW has talent. Now, we have the coach that can hopefully maximize the talent as take us to the next level. It's not rare for teams to get better after hiring a new coach. UCLA got much better going from Rick to Mora.

    Sark didn't win 9 games.

Petersen is taking over a 9 win team with the starting OL and the front 7 on D returning. 3 four star QB's, a stable of decent running backs, and very good weapons at WR. He should be able to win right away with these guys. Now, kindly fuck off.

    Sark didn't win 9 games.

Peterman is focused on culture change.

He lost the starter at QB, RB and TE. Starting skill talent on it's way to the NFL over Kim's stars, sorry... and brand new coaches with a brand systems to boot. I'll predict a win total when we know who's lining up to play.

So you are saying anytime a new coach comes in, he needs a few years to get his own guys in there? I think Section14A and JohnB said that when Sark and Ty were coach.

if i dont see drive killing penalties, lawn mowing on the sideline while up 14 against Georgia state and back to back to back 3 and outs holding the ball for 57 seconds at a time, im going to have to stream USC games.
  • Sarkastic has surpassed IMALOSER territory in this thread.

Literally sounding like IMALOSER and is just trolling for the sake of trolling. Only he isn't very good at it.

I am a huge fan of redshirting. I agree with it being bypassed very selectively, but I would not have put in a guy like Shelton or Farria or Mathis, and for sure not a Kohler or any of the other OL/DL guys who had their RS year burned by Sark, not to mention guys like Kevin Smith.

Out of this class, only Budda Baker probably is someone who you'd have to play, and even then, I wish Coach Pete would RS him too, and build the team for the long run. Husky football would be so much stronger if he did. Maybe we lose one game more in 2014 because of it, but that is the new staff's first year, and we'd forget about it when we became more dominant in 2015/16/17/18 as a result.

On position moves, to support guys redshirting, I for sure would love to see Shirley tried at LB and Thompson at SS. It might not work, but it is worth a shot to put our experienced guys in positions of need, and that combination might help.

On O, there are fewer options to be creative, but doing something with Kendyl Taylor and Darrell Daniels makes sense in terms of position changes. With Kasen Williams not ready for spring, they can use that time for experimenting, and with a new coaching staff, everyone can get a fresh start.

yeah, but we have Ross, so it balances out
