He’ll be a Drew Sample level player for us. With Redman in the fold I’m ok with this.

Now offer DJ!

Judging by his hudl, he looks pretty meh movement wise but he makes plays on the ball when it gets to him. Doesn't give me doog wood like Kole Taylor's film did but you've gotta give out TE development the benefit of the doubt obviously

Where's the WIGGLE??!1?
-
Love the way the kid blocks... and he seems like a really natural catcher of the foot-bowel. There's just no suddenness to his movement at all... takes a while to get going and is kinda slow and lumbering.

If we get DJ Rogers I'm fine getting a block first plodder as the third TE in the class.guntlove said:Love the way the kid blocks... and he seems like a really natural catcher of the foot-bowel. No Rogers and this is an issue.

I know:tvoie said:For anyone who knows anything, is West good?
A. He was notin their first tier of offers, so hes probably not, or to date has not been, as good as some of the misses.
B. UW doesn't offer shitty players as a rule. Hes either a giu who will break out as a senior, or he already has some qualities that UWs very good evaluators like. Maybe hes an athletic blocking specialist who can snag a big play when nobody's looking like Jacob Kizer. -
I'll wait until I see his Senior film before making a definitive judgement on this pickup. But right now, it's not looking good. And please spare me the "he'll be a good blocker" cliche bullshit. He looks soft as a blocker and isn't out there looking to pancake anybody. He's not a super physical Will Dissly kind of guy right now. Could just end up being a slower version of Devin Culp and sit on the bench his entire career here.
-
I guessing this won’t age well, if he ever gets on the field. The TE group shows out.StrongArmCobra said:I'll wait until I see his Senior film before making a definitive judgement on this pickup. But right now, it's not looking good.

Ballz will rave about what an improvement West's senior film is and how he's clearly superior to Yurosek and whatever TE(s) Oregon signs. -
Yeah, Michael Neal and Jacob Kizer have really shown out. I still remember Paopao telling the media Neal needed to be more physical to get on the field while I'm watching that and thinking "You recruited him you dumbass! You should have known he was soft before!". Kizer is such a slow plodder. He'll never be much of a threat as a pass catcher. Stop acting like a stupid doog like Paopao can just take 3-star guys nobody else wanted and they'll automatically turn into NFL draft picks while they're here. That's not always the case. We've also heard Devin Culp can't block worth shit.DawgFader said:

STFUB...Way to point out one scrub. Dissly, Sample, Cade, Bryant...fuck off. There’s a system and a PECKING ORDER for playing time I.E. Kizer, Culp, Redman etc.StrongArmCobra said:

Go back to Doogman bitch. And Paopao didn't recruit Dissly. He was gifted Dissly from the D-line. Dissly was a Choate recruit. Yeah the pecking order is the guys that are good play and the guy that suck don't. As of right now Culp can't block and Kizer can't do shit as a receiver. After this season we got Otton and Redman and that's it as far as guys who can without a doubt be complete TE's. This is NOT good recruiting. You can't turn chicken shit into chicken salad. Physical talent fucking matters.DawgFader said:

Good question. Rumor mill says he told UW he's not coming here, hard to say how much potential there is to persuade him otherwise. I'd rather have Rogers anyway personally but would be thrilled with either.guntlove said:

He earned his offer right after the camp where he likely impressed the coaches.
It was also around when Yurosek committed to Stanford and Taylor likely told the coaches they were out of the running.
He isn’t as good as those two but he probably showed something in camp that isn’t in his tape to date.
Likely a case of abundance. -
He's our fifth TE offer and it was made in June right after the camp. This isn't some last minute desperation offer. They obviously like him and they just saw him up close. We offered Patterson on December 1st last year.DoogCourics said:
