Never before has a player had a shot to win three rings in three games

I can't imagine a scenario where a player's entire legacy could be impacted so greatly in (potentially) three games.
Toronto probably wins tonight. But if not shit will get really chinteresting.

According to Warrior fans a one game suspension was good for three losses in a row so any kind of math could be in play here

Everyone thought Lebron was broken after the Dallas series. Paul Pierce hit a 3 in his face to win game 5 of the Celtics Heat series the next year to put Boston up 3-2. Pierce screamed on the court “I got the balls to take that shot”. Lebron responded with the best game I’ve ever seen.
KDs situation is different but the stakes are just as high.
Personally, I hope he’s great tonight and the Warriors win in 7 because of him. It won’t make me like him but I would love to hate him the way I loved to hate Miami Lebron. -
This is KDs get out of jail free card for his move to Golden State.
He pulls this off it not only raises his legacy, but removes the asterisks from his previous two titles. -

I suspect that the Raptors are the better team anyway but we'll never know. I think they win tonight. My prediction of Toronto in 7 may have been too pessimistic
Jordan got his first ring against an injured Laker team. Part of the game and no one remembers most of the time
-
While Durant will certainly help with having another shooter on the floor. I don't think neither himself nor Klay will be half of the defenders that they normally are. It's still over tonight.
You can cook that if you like. -
That was a bad Laker team. Blazers probably run the Bulls out of the gym that particular series as they were still young and the Blazers got Finals experience the year before. But alas, Portland choked in the WCF and the rest is history.RaceBannon said:I suspect that the Raptors are the better team anyway but we'll never know. I think they win tonight. Yep. Easily the most fascinating NBA storyline since LBJ 3-1 hometown hero heel—>face turn.Doogles said:This is KDs get out of jail free card for his move to Golden State.

I can’t wait. -
Well that didn't last long

I really felt bad for him. Hopefully it’s not something that threatens next season.

Out for the year is my prediction.allpurpleallgold said:I really felt bad for him. Hopefully it’s not something that threatens next season.
The real question is does it change the course of his career.
-
Reminds me of Richard Sherman's blown Achilles. Had some issues with it, came back too soon, blew it wide open.
My guess is he's never the same. Really hope I'm wrong. -
There’s no fixing a partial tear ... it’s just a matter of when it goes

After tonight, I’m pretty confident in saying KD has cemented his legacy -
Golden State’s GM on the verge of tears talking about it. -
Phony boy tears. Fuck his agent for allowing the team management and training staff to pressure him into playing.allpurpleallgold said:

KD playing tonight is the absolute best thing that could happen to his career and legacy.backthepack said:

Yes and no. Depending on how minor it is it can certainly heal with enough rest.Tequilla said:There’s no fixing a partial tear ... it’s just a matter of when it goes

It's June and they're still playing basketball.
-
He has no legacy. He was a coward for running to the best team in the league after choking away a 3-1 lead vs them. A top 3 player in the league joined the best team and they won, who cares. And if Golden State wins this series he’s nothing but a footnote in the Steph/Klay/Draymond story.Tequilla said:There’s no fixing a partial tear ... it’s just a matter of when it goes

I can see the downvote you gave my previous post. I don't think you have any idea just how much your downvotes hurt me.allpurpleallgold said:

Agree. He essentially pulled a Willis Reed in reverse.
-
Yep. None of this is debatable. As the biggest Kevin hater on this forum, I do not have a single ounce of sympathy for him. He broke the NBA in the biggest bitch move in the history of sports. Rest in piss.allpurpleallgold said:

Cheering for GSW now for the ultimate KD lulz when they win. -
He might not be the same after an achilles tho. He still has like 7-8 good years left.HillsboroDuck said:

I always have a soft spot for KD because he’s a good dude and has done some stuff for Seattle. He donated a basketball court to the city and has done some other stuff here. I like him and his game.
-
Lebron going to Miami w/ Wade and Bosh wasn’t a bitch move either? Because it was.
Fuck that arguement. Go to the place you can win the best rings and play with the best. It’s non-sense fuck that arguement. Other teams have to adjust. -
Amazing basketball player. Not someone who has ever come across as an especially intelligent human being.Tequilla said:

Russell Westbrook will also have practically no legacy, putting up monster numbers on a shitty team no one really cares about.allpurpleallgold said:

Similarly for Hardin too.
Nash, Iverson, Barkley, Miller, Stockton, Ewing, McGrady, Wilkins, and Malone all know what its like to be great but get shit on for never winning a ring.
Durant is a beta bitch for other reasons, wanting to play next to THE greatest 3pt shooter of all time and one of the greatest 3pt wings of all time isnt why.
All that being said, 81% chance his window is closed and his legacy is fucked.
