There are a shit load of problems with this new wave of "democratic" socialism and this spending spree that seemingly every dem candidate wants to send us spinning into. Lots of people like their healthcare and don't want to see it replaced by a shitty, watered down Medicare. Lots of people don't want taxpayer dollars going towards giving deadbeats a free semester of college before they flunk out with a drinking problem. Lots of people don't want to fork over more to Uncle Sam so we can implement nationwide compostable straw initiatives while laying off thousands of people in the O&G industries.

We don't get to talk about any of that when comparisons to Soviet genocides are the first things that get brought up.

So we should stick to Nazi Germany comparisons instead. Like this thread started

Call me old fashioned, but I think the "Hitler's Germany had to start somewhere" talking points are equally stupid.

I'm with you on the last point. The system is what the system is. If we're talking about healthcare, how do we improve it? Most on the left want to tell us universal healthcare is the answer. Sounds nice, but we can't get there for a myriad of reasons. Pick any one of the insurance lobby, the insane cost of implementation, people losing actual effective plans, decreased access to doctors, etc. So how do we actually fix what we have? All I ever hear is tear down Obamacare from the right, and socialized medicine from the left. Compromise is miles away.
