"OKG" is racist according to Oregon

We could use the same argument for Poly bias against Oregon. "Hey, Makalakafakalua, look here, Oregon only took 5 Polys in the last class and we took 10! Oregon culture clearly doesn't fit with Poly culture like it does at UW. You wouldn't fit in there."FremontTroll said:

By saying they're not intentionally racist, you're saying they're racist.FremontTroll said:
So you now concede there is a significant difference in roster makeup, especially in the last two classes?CallMeBigErn said:
8 of those black players came from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. You know, where Cristobal recruits. You know, where there's a lot more black football players than out west. UW got a lot of guys from Hawaii. You know, where they recruit. You know, where there's lots of Poly guys. Nice use of one data point that can be easily explained. You were saying something about considering other variables?FremontTroll said:

I counted 38 white guys. I didn't look at the names just the faces.
I'll let the experts like @Dennis_DeYoung divy up the non-whites because I'm not sure what constitutes black anymore after reading this thread.

Counted 34 white faces for our Dawgs... Who's the racist now?!?!?!?!!?!!
This is seriously embarrassing shit.
If you guys want to live in a world where UW didn't pivot to recruting more Poly and to a lesser degree white dudes and far less black dudes in the last two classes then have fun.
We are in a post-fact world anyway.
You get proven wrong and this is your reply? What the fuck is your point? Poly culture jives tremendously well with Pete's culture, and that's why we're cleaning house in Poly recruiting. Pete would be stupid to not pursue that angle. We're not required to fill a race quota here. We go after guys who want to be Dawgs and grind. We're not going to pursue primadonnas and jive ass motherfuckers. It doesn't matter if they're black, white, yellow, or blue. I can't believe this shit.
Did you not read my original post where I said obviously our recruiting approach and OKG/Built for Life theme is not intentionally racist but that it has had an adverse impact- namely- less black players?
That doesn't mean that the poly movement is bad or a net negative or unfair or anything else. Just means that we are prone to being negatively recruited by Oregon with certain recruits.
Oregon's 2019 recruiting class by my estimation:
17 black
5 poly
5 white (3 non Kicker/QB category)
UW:
10 poly
6 black
6 white
1 asian
Also I'm not going to go into DDY's one/two black parents theory but lets just say #teamlightskin appear to be much higher represented at UW than Oregon.
Thanks. That was my entire point.
I don't care about how/why we reached that outcome. In fact I said multiple times CP and staff are obviously not intentionally racist.
But if their strategy and approach lead to outcome of less black players then we will be negatively recruited on that basis.
It is what it is. If you want to put blinders on and pretend that Oregon is being underhanded rather than simply playing the cards they are dealt then that is on you.
CP and staff have no racist animus, intent, or unconscious bias.
But their recruiting process still has a disparate impact on black recruits as evidenced by the demographic shift to more poly and white players and less black players. -
You think we don't use our poly culture and representation in comparison to other programs as a major selling point?CallMeBigErn said:

More of a positive one than a negative one but it is similar.
The difference is that black people have dominated football rosters ever since whitey allowed them to play. So having a roster that is disproportionately non-black is susceptible to negative recruiting whereas the poly player pool is much smaller so only having a few polys can't really be negatively recruited as much as having a disproportionately high poly representation can be postively emphasized. -
I love white people talking about racism. It's amazing to behold.
Go on white people!! Do your thing. -
I was told that bias is often conflated as racism, when in fact they are not the same thing. Quit stoking the fires.Dennis_DeYoung said:I love white people talking about racism. It's amazing to behold.

What does this have to do with west coast vs SEC recruiting base. Still waiting on your answer to that one.Dennis_DeYoung said:I love white people talking about racism. It's amazing to behold.

Why do all these black people keep thinking I'm biased?? They just don't get it man. White people don't think I'm racist AT ALL!!!
If black people only understood, then they would really see - but it's really hard to make them understand when they keep telling me I'm racist!!
Oh well, I have lots of black friends. -
This is honestly weird.Dennis_DeYoung said:

I'm glad the wokest and most progressive of our fans are perpetuating the myth that our program is somehow excluding black people with 2 black parents. Not mixed black people, not black people with African parents, but only black people from black American families. How long does Ngata or Onwuzerikes or Ulofoshios family have to be in the US for in order to cross into the "black, black" not "african black" subgenre? Or do they have an African last name so it doesnt count? No one knows except the wokest of the woke among us.
The entire premise is so fucking flawed I feel like Im taking crazy pills. We have white coaches, 3 black coaches, 2 poly coaches, and a middle eastern looking coach. We have probably the most diverse roster of players in the country. We had a Chinese all american play safety for us. Our other safety was black and filipino.
This whole thread is a black eye for the program that is based on a fucking lie. It actually pisses me off. We have a player's mom saying youre full of shit. We have black NFL players that love the program and actively recruit for it on twitter.
Nuke this thread. It's embarrassing -

DDY is entitled to his opinions, but he seems to be someone who only sees color while mocking those who think people should be judged on merit and character....
Nuke this fucking thread
I love the 'black people are all the same so I don't get what's with all the racism accusations' argument. It's amazing.
Tell me more about the nuances of the black experience in America big guy!
Thanks in advance!
