Right now Nowell isn't included in many mock drafts, even ones that are two full rounds. If he doesn't impress in workouts you'd think the decision would be to return. Thybulle on the other hand has seen his stock improve in recent weeks. A lot of mocks have him at the end of the first/early second. -
He is 100% gone. Times article today confirms as much.

Not sure he getting drafted, so hopefully he has success in Europe
-
Hopefully there is someone in his life giving him a healthy dose of constructive reality, there just aren't enough people that believe in his game to warrant leaving early. He runs the high risk of going undrafted at this point and lacks the upside or alpha mentality to command playing time/opportunities in the NBA as a free agent or late 2nd round draft pick.WeakarmCobra said:Not sure he getting drafted, so hopefully he has success in Europe
there is no shame in returning after thinking you are ready to go pro and finding out the market might think you are not.
That being said; He was fucking 100% gone the second he won Pac12 POY, if not before. -

Given his confidence and some of the comments in the article you have to think there are a couple of teams that have given some kind of feedback that they are very interestedHillsboroDuck said:

That being said, the 1st round is going to be a reach and I do suspect that he’s going to be a 2nd rounder developing in the G league making so-so money.
Perhaps it is just me, but I definitely view staying in school as a superior option to the G league -

Maybe, just maybe, the kid hates school. That happens. Studying and going to classes and following a syllabus may not be his bag. G league, Europe or whatever may be more attractive than slogging through another year of school. Good on him, go make your money, follow your dream, you do you. BUT as a guy who dropped out and started a career as a bartender and then grocery bagger I would recommend another year and maybe some first round guaranteed money.Tequilla said:

If you are a top 15 pick. You go. Staying another year to move from 14 to 10 isn't worth it.bigcc said:

Nowell is long gone.
Ross - Doubt it. He wasn't ever going to develop a strong handle, had he stayed teams would have figured that out.
Murray - Yes, probably.
Wroten - No chance. He went when teams still thought they could develop his shot.
Hawes - Nope, his lack of athleticism become more glaring the older he got. Wasn't going higher.
Nate Rob - Doubt it.
So yeah you've got Murray and maybe the midgets. Maybe. -
-
The calculation is a little bit skewed because of how absolutely dog shit Romar was at actually coaching/improving guys.HillsboroDuck said:

He wasn't bad at developing guards early on - Nate and maybe IT could have expected good development had they come back.Houhusky said:

It's always the argument of when do you have upside to lean on for being drafted. If he was a borderline 1st round pick it would make some sense to test the waters, but I can't see how going to the Gleague is worth his time. Waiting one year and possibly combining with elite talent could easily get him near the 1st round.RoadDawg55 said:

All the guys mentioned make sense other than maybe Murray (as stated). His stock can only rise by playing another year in college. bTW, Fuck the whole school thing. He's still in 101 classes and trying to get a C. It's not like we're talking his senior year and he may actually have to take a 300-400 level classload. -
