Speakers

As I posted on another area, looking to improve my hifi stereo system. What speakers to people have or recommend?

I’m not looking to spend over $2000. So be reasonable.

one time at an electronics store, the sales guy had me turn away from the wall of speakers - he then would play different sets of speakers until I raised my hand - narrowed it down to 3 different sets real fast, then I picked the ones that I thought sounded best. Yamaha mid range cost if I remember correctly. Lost them in a divorce anyway so doesn't matter.

Do they still have electronic stores?

I have no idea what they go for today but back in the day when I used to listen to my music a peak volume levels you couldn't beat these.

I have the hearing loss to prove it. Clear as a bell, horn loaded.

Make frens with the local hi fi store. They will steer you in the right direction.

Way too many variables for us to give proper advice here.

Some speakers are very picky with regards to to amps and room placement. Others are more flexible.

If you weren’t approached by two guys in Wilson leather jackets and killer mullets in Kirkland offering you some kick ass speakers, you were missing out.

After high school I worked for an interior design company. I worked in the warehouse. Organizing tile, carpet, laminate. The business next door were the dudes in Astro vans selling speakers.

I never bought them as I heard they weee shit.

Bowers and Wilkins - although being Chi com made - make great 2 k speakers.

Focal are great and I think their 2 k floor standers are made in France.

The LaScalas that Bob references are a classic but way above the budget here and particular about room placements and amplification.
