I'm for mothers but against Mother's Day brunch. I have refused to go for about 18 years now.
The idea mostly, I think. It's a cliche ritual that annoys me because certain family members are so into it. That said, the typical brunch is a odyssey of overpriced mediocrity. Shitty buffet, not enough alcohol, food that doesn't do well together. Etc. just a fucking dreckfest of a meal.

In 1914 Woodrow Wilson signed the proclamation creating Mother’s Day, the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers.
