I only read 1/4 of an article about this, but it seemed that there was some bit of truth in the claim. Erdogan will never have a better chance to win on this than the present.

Turkey at least has geographical importance. The issue with NATO is that why do we need countries like Portugal in there? They offer no useful utility, no one is going to attack them and then get too much power on this kind of shit. If we think it’s important to protect them, then let’s sign bilateral treaties directly with them and be able to dictate the terms.
