I think Bush knew all about the Saudis role in 9/11. I don't think he had prior knowledge of the attack and then just allowed it to happen.

The thing about the Saudi's is that they are smart bastards who nationalized the oil and bought America in the 70s. The alternative to the Family would probably be worse

Like with the Pakistani's, the Saudi government has radical Muslims in the government and intelligence and military. Not surprising that some aid may have been given or perhaps what would be more surprising if aid wasn't contributed.

My apologies to @vadawg, who back in 2009 was telling me that Bush wasn't innocent and the Saudis were behind it. I argued back then.
