Giving up 17 play drives to teams willing to take what the UW defense gave doesn’t make for a dominant defense. The more I think back the more I think had Pete been more aggressive on defense they could have been truly suffocating. Vita, Gaines, Qualls, Shelton, Johnson, Levi up front. All the NFL DBs. Kikaha, Tryon, Mathis, Feeney, Littleton. Azeem, Bierria, BBK. Playing a defense designed to beat the Air Raid against all opponents was a waste of all that talent. The numbers looked good enough but 2-4 vs Stanford and 0-3 in NY6 games says otherwise. All the teams from 2014-2019 with the exception of ‘16 could have been better than they were.

I’m not sure if he’s very good at adjusting the scheme to the talent at hand. We gave up 52 to Eastern. I wanted him fired at the 50 for that.
