Peterman has said that both Miley and String are off the team but a pathway is being built for their return.

I take this to mean, String just needs to be ready for the walkthrough Friday before game day. Miley on the other hand can ice it. Peterman doesn't need him. Next year he can start his own guy in here so, the only thing Miley is gonna build around here is 'character' and callousess on his ass from sitting.
