They sell the Kirkland AA alkaline batteries right next to the basically identical packaged Duracell batteries at Costco. Of course, the Kirkland batteries are made by Duracell. I still see people buying the Duracell's for god knows what reason.

My parents always bought the name brand whatever. So, my broke ass college student brother comes to stay with me in the summer at my state of the art bachelor apartment with my crazy ass cinder block stereo/TV stand. Day one we hit the grocery store for the things I'm paying for. Dudette would put in a box of Kleenex, I'd take it out and put in the store brand. In/out with the C&H Sugar and in with the store brand. He finally figured out that if you are going to pay for "value" you should be getting value.

Back when my digital camera took AA batteries, the only brand that was worth it was the engergizer lithium batteries. Definitely worth it depending on the scenario or product being used.

Same here. For some reason, the camera chewed up batteries, I got rechargeable lithium AA batteries.

PS Don't blame me, Derek started this thread.

I've had multiple Kirkland batteries corrode, once bad enough to ruin my fleshlight flashlight. I think those batteries are as much a Duracell as the urban myth that the Kirkland vodka is the same thing as Grey Goose.

Never had a problem with the Kirkland AAs. They are made by Duracell.

I've read they're made by Duracell, but that doesn't necessarily mean of the same stuff. I buy Duracell from Costco when they're on sale, which is every other month, it seems.

This makes no sense. You sound dumb and poor, move to Lake Oswego and figure it out.

Don't ever remember being dumb. Could read before first grade and the parental units had me working early. Mowing the yard at 9. Then off to the berry fields. Just so much systemic white institutional racism. Now field work is only for illegals and is illegal for 12 year olds. My kid was mowing the yard at age 9 and cars would stop and stare at him. Always worried that someone was going to call CSD.
