So the coach that finished last in the division was FIRED?

    I am shocked!

Didn't finish last, 6-6 season. Lost to Bama by 2. Crapped the bed v. uSC. Got canned for remarks after UGA blasting.
Other guy crapped the bed 3x but won his division and got paid.

This is an oversimplification as to why Mullen got fired

Bad relationship with AD, refuses to recruit, program declined every season after year 2, made a terrible DC hire and refused to rectify it, lost the locker room, gave up 60 to a d2 team at home. All that combined with him being a stubborn ass of a human being = easy decision to fire

You're like my shadow. I can always count on you to be there.

Try this. Mullen's was primarily fired for some internal shit with his and AD and losing his players at the end of the year. But being an a-hole fits you better here and scores the points. Bootlicker.

This is accurate. Especially the recruiting, and where the team was trending.

Similar records sometimes aren't created equal. 35-14 trending up is much different than 34-15 trending down.

Look at Helfirch. Reverse the order in which his seasons occurred, and he's probably still coaching at Oregon.
