Bogan decommits so he can find right offensive scheme?

DerekJohnsonDerekJohnson Administrator, Swaye's Wigwam Posts: 64,061 Founders Club
He said with the recent coaching changes he needs to re-open his recruitment so he can find the right offensive scheme.

So... up until Jimmy's firing, Bogan thought the Donovan Express was the best schematic fit for him?

Probably more to the story but I'm just reacting to his quote in today's Seattle Times. Maybe DeBoer let him know we're full.

One correction. Looks like we might be actually going after a 2nd TE. Just a different skillet than what Bogan brings

    Essentially, we're offering a Y instead of an H

Y-TE are the ones that line up on the LOS whereas H-TE line up off the LOS, often in the backfield either as FB or offset.

People are overreacting to this. All of this is a nice way of saying his offer was pulled. We don't need 11 TE/H-backs on the roster and Bogan, while probably a great kid, is not a guy you take regardless. If he came to UW, he'd probably ride the bench for a few years and then transfer.

I saw on the discord thing that Chest was beating his chest about this and calling it a travesty that will destroy local recruiting for years to come. No, this is what teams do that care about winning. You don't fill your roster with guys who you dont think will vontribute.

In the Sark days, Sark rightfully pulled Sammy Long’s offer and many said the same thing Chest is saying now. It happens. Nobody ends up caring.
That was actually cut throat. If I remember correctly, Long was Sark's first commit of the class and was committed for well over a year. Sark then filled the class with better players and told Long to kick rocks just a month or two out from LOI day, at a time where most schools that would've otherwise taken him were unironically full.

That and the grey shirt bullshit were pretty widespread for awhile there. I think Ole Miss was especially egregious with the ol "dump a kid at the last minute when you find someone better" maneuver.

This and combined with the hiring debacle of not taking the grand slam hire Jason Wilcocks... what in the world will UW ever do!!

Only players the staff thinks are good please. Political stuff only matters when you lose anyways.

I was never really impressed with the kids film. He also looks small. Otton looked like a giant standing next to him.

Is Otton our? Only LEGIT recruit this year? Saw him play for tumwater in the quarters and I was 2-3x more impressed with him than Bogan. Completely different guys

Germie is the best one in the class. Megwa and Otton are very good too. Vega is solid if he stays.

Connerly is obviously the big prize.

Conerly has potential but very raw... hasn't had great coaching. Germie is superstar potential. Otton will be very good. every else is jag imo

Forgot about Germie, you’re right, he’s a freak.

Don’t forget the ripple effect that sent shockwaves through the NW when Sark pulled Aaron Grimes and Grant Cisneros’ offers from the Willingham era
