That’s a recruiting ranking bullshit award. The voters can’t even name 5 safeties without looking at a list. He played in like 8 games and didn’t even start more than half the games. Weird recognition. It’s meaningless but it’s still bullshit.

Lloyd not being the defensive player of the year is a travesty and shows they didn’t watch the games. He is the best player in the conference on either side of the ball and it’s not close.
