I’m with Race on this one…the HC is the one that matters. The same assistants that looked like a good staff under CP (at least until he checked out) looked like absolute shite under Lake. If DeBoner is good this will look like a good staff and Ill be bitching about one or two for relatively minor issues. If he sucks the entire staff will look like shite.
Leadership matters. -
If any of the guys we? retained end up not sucking then it'll be an even bigger stain on Lake's résumé, which would be cool.

Inoke and Morgan are the two exciting hires. Certainly could have had more than that. The rest are fully LIPO. No obvious duds, and probably the right balance of Fresno guys and outside hires.
Fire Jen though, for fucks sake. We're spending small-time money on this staff, and unless those savings are being funneled to a car dealership and setting up an NIL slush fund for players, then this is just pathetic.
I'm disgusted with the lack of effort to win the offseason natty. I don't know if it's because Deboner just likes his guys better or if it's because the AD forced him to shop cheaply. I'm in the fire Jenn camp on that.
But...it probably doesn't matter that much. If Deboner is good he'll turn guys into good recruiters and coaches by force of will. That's the head man's job. Do it or next up.
I wanted DeBoer hired long before Lake was at any risk of getting fired, so I'd be a complete pussy to back off and turn on him now just because his staff hires don't have any sizzle and a couple may suck.
I'm way more excited about the new DL guy than I expected to be. He's on the all name team if nothing else. -
We went coach hunting at a garage sale and we'll see the results of it.

I do feel like most of these coaches will be upgrades. Hopefully Adams and Huff will thrive in the new system. Even if some of these guys are from the MWC it would be hard to be a worse recruiter than Jon Don, Gregory, Harris, Brown, and KB.
