I think this is more how uw is viewed by others and not about the effort to hire a big name. The problem to begin with is letting the program get to this level. Not the effort of the search.backthepack said:

Most here aren’t thrilled with striking out on Campbell (and Stoops, who wasn’t going to happen) - but the idea that top-25ish schools consistently get their top choice isn’t backed by reality. LSU is still looking for a coach and Florida just hired the dude from Louisiana - and those are both better programs than UW. We are on par with Virginia Tech nationally - and wait to see who they get. Coaching hires are a crapshoot even if you get your top choice. Let it play out. -
