Why not roll the dice on coordinator or coach from the Meyer or Saban tree. Considering the Petersen tree has proven itself to be questionable, what’s the difference except we’re out of the MWC?

I was foolishly a Stoops Dooog and Campbell and Deboer are both LIPO meh to me. Didn’t love either of them but I would say over the past few days I was probably leaning more towards Campbell as my 2 and Deboer 3.

    I was:

    1. Stoops (no chance, may take over again at Oklahoma now)

    2. Aranda (almost no chance, staying at Baylor or going back to LSU)

    3. Campbell (decent chance but seems to be LSU or Oklahoma)

    4. DeBoer (basically #3 since Stoops was a pipe dream):

    Campbell was easy #1

Never thought Aranda was in play

Anybody else was going to be a hire that had warts on the resume

Campbell has a nice resume. It be great to have him. He’s not without warts.
I’d say this season resembles a goiter.

His warts are very small comparatively

He had one great Covid season. That’s it.

I’d roll the dice on him gladly. But to think he’s the only guy who could win here is silly.
I’d disagree with the only had one great season … but no question it’s a fair criticism

His resume is good. But He’s not Urban Meyer at Utah in 2004 and it’s not close.

Matt Campbell is a god at Iowa State even though he has never beaten Iowa at
and seems to be turning into a slightly more competent Steve Sarkisian with a defensive forte.

He can go 7-6 there for the rest of time and probably still be a fan favorite for beating a 4-3 Oregon team in the shittiest NY6 matchup ever

At Washington, USC, other schools, the expectation is that Campbell is there to elevate the program and get double digit wins. He doesn't do that, he's fucking door ass out in 3 years tops.

Iowa State and a new contract is safe for him

If you're a big dick program you don't miss on your first choice

LSU wanted Riley and missed. Are they not a big dick program?
What did USC just do? Don't give an exception to the rule. The dude is at fucking Iowa State. Iowa fucking State is like Washington State and you can't pry him away? The boosters, the AD, and especially Jen Cohen can go fuck themselves.
Supposedly content to wait for a good B1G to open up. I mean, you can’t put a gun to his head. (You could, maybe.)

If we want to be a big dick program sometimes it starts with putting a gun to someone’s head

I have no idea what I'm talking about but as far as big dick hires go Kiffan at Ole Miss Stoops at Kentucky and Pittman at Arkansas have all done well recently as lower end SEC schools. I welcome some education on why those names are interesting or stupid to bring up. I don't see why there should be any more than 20ish HCs in the country that are off the table completely.
