I will admit I was fine with Huard not playing this year. But playing Morris all year wasn't the plan either, I thought.

Why hasn't O'Brien played? Seemed like the perfect transition guy.

I still want to give Huard a chance and would have liked to see him get a quarter or even a half at some point. But I guess I’m not seeing anything special when he has been out there. Not very big, not super athletic.
This o line can’t block for shit. Probably better off with someone who can make a play with their legs. We don’t need Lamar Jackson, but Isaiah Stanback could have won 9 games with this team.

Yeah, I don't think we? can read anything into what we've? seen so far. As was noted elsewhere, it's almost like the UW coaches (haha) have gone out of their way to put him into positions where the cards are stacked against him. The loyalty toward Morris is cringey.

Hugh Millen continues to insist that he is not ready and there's no value in playing him more than once more to preserve the redshirt.

Huard not being able to win the job this year isn’t a good forecast for him being a star.

Yes, I know all about our shitty offense, the coaching, and the downfall of the program in general. The point still stands and it’s doogish optimism to say otherwise. I hope he will be good. I don’t expect it.
He sucks until proven otherwise. Same as every coach or football player.

There was a reason Pete wasn't really impressed with their "stars"

I agree he should start one - and play the entirety - of these last two games... I think the softest landing would be this Saturday. It would be epic to have him start Apple Cup though...

I absolutely think at this point we should only play him in one more game and preserve the four years of eligibility. Let O'Brien back Morris up - or vice versa - in the other two.

I've read where people feel if he is great he is gone before the five years are up.. however he isn't going to be a massive draft prospect in all reality at 6'2" (I don't think he is actually 6'2", he looks about the same height as Morris) and very thin at 190#. Although he is a good athlete, he is not Russel Wilson or Steve young. I think he will likely use up all of his eligibility.

All this being said I'm done getting super upset over anything this program does... I'm too old and have too many other great things going in my life.
However I am super curious about this particular coaching search... we screw this up and I'll tune out altogether. No warning, just gone.

They've fucked the whole QB situation beyond repair. I wanted (and still want) to fire Adams for the way they pissed away an appearance for Huard against ASU. That was completely stupid to send him out there to play conservative in bad field position twice and then to hand off the ball for one more. What a total fucking waste.

If I could be king for a day right now, I'd dictate that Huard gets 100% of the snaps in one of the last two games and that he gets to sling it 40-50 times, results be damned. Let's see what he looks like when actually given the confidence of the staff, and let him and his teammates get a feel for playing together before the season ends and all of them hit the portal.

I want him to start against the coug just so he can throw a pick 6 to lose the game. That would be pretty epic.

Yeah, the situations he was put in as qb this year were not ideal and obviously hes not going to get in any type of rhythm but goddamn was he unimpressive when he came in this year. True freshman, I know, but he'll need to improve a lot

These coaches are auditioning to not be assistants at Weber State next year. So you'd think they'd be a lot more open to rolling Huard and O'Brien out there to hopefully catch a spark. Given that arguably none of them will be here next year, you'd also think they wouldn't give two shits about Huard's redshirt.

Or so you'd think. Everything this staff has done has been fucktarded and wrong, so I'm done trying to predict their next move.

The next two games are really big for Junior Adams career wise if he can call a win.. EWU just fired their OC so that could be a landing door for him next year
Some of you have a terrible grasp on the hierarchy of CFB jobs out there, and it's funny to see comments like this.

Junior currently makes double what the EWU head coach does. He was their OC ten years ago and has steadily moved up the coaching ranks since then. To move back to that shitty bumblefuck town, at a fraction of the salary he currently makes now, would be an epic demotion. If he doesn't get retained by the new staff, he's almost certainly going to be a WR coach again at another P5 school. And that's a far better gig than an FCS OC.

That would also mean that Ty Thompson sucks.

    Fuck.

Not all, but alot of good college and NFL teams have a dual threat QB. This is what bothers me with Sam, he has the tools to be a great pocket passer but our OL sucks. A mobile qb could get by with this OL, it's an uphill battle for Sam. I am done with Morris, he is not the future, so play Obrien against CU and Sam against the Coog

You’re right, I forgot how much EWU has been cutting money in their program, Best took a massive pay cut this year to keep everything afloat. I was looking at it from the perspective of, We? Have the worst passing offense I’ve ever seen and WRs who drop balls every two minutes, so maybe he can save some face and prove that even an inept WR coach can call an offense better. Does a MWC WR coach make more than an FCS coordinator?
