You owe your entire career to Washington, Bob Stoops

@creepycoug and I have talked about this a lot over the years. But we all know his winning the wrong way convicts would have plungered Stoops in the Orange Bowl that year.

It should have been UW v Oklahoma

We would have won too.RaceBannon said:It should have been UW v Oklahoma
Fuck it. I’m claiming 2000 too -
I was thinking about the rankings that year. Miami beat FSU but FSU played in the BCS natty game?
And yeah, I thought at the time that Oklahoma would’ve been a favorable matchup for UW. -

FSU was the worst choice of the three
UW was not overwhelming anyone that year but they beat two top 5 teams. A regular Purdue who they also beat in the consolation Rose Bowl.

At the end of the season, there wasn't a better team in the country than the Canes.
With that said, I miss the arguments about who should be in what bowl. It made it all much more interesting.
I would have liked Washington's chances against the Sooners; but I can virtually guarantee Miami would have beaten them soundly. -

As the people in charge of killing college football decide how many teams to expand the playoff to we once again find ourselves wondering if there will be 4 teams this year worthy of the honorcreepycoug said:At the end of the season, there wasn't a better team in the country than the Canes.

The plus one after the bowls makes so much damn sense that it will never happen
It would restore the magic of the game and make it different from the NFL.
Saw this morning a very good point - with a 12 or 8 team playoff the Ohio State Michigan State game would be meaningless. Like most NFL games

Also always hard to bet against Tui.RaceBannon said:

Oklahoma had a stingy D as I recall. But that Orange Bowl was boring af to watch. I think if Snoop Minnis doesn't miss that game on account of a lack of academis prowess FSU probably wins. He was far and away Weinkedinkie's favorite target that season.
