Kirk Ferentz is a decent coach but at one point in the 1980s the following were all assistants under Hayden Fry:

Bob Stoops
Bill Snyder
Barry Alvarez
Dan McCarney
Ferentz

Iowa may have ended up with the worst of the bunch.
