I do. Texas’ problems are clearly bigger than any one coach can fix. They’ve tried everything and it’s all been shit. He’s a good coach and would understand that recruiting is important.
Thinking about it more, I can get on board with it assuming he can fill his staff with competent assistants a la Meat. He's closer to Sark than CP but with the direction the game is going in you might be better off with a scumbag douche canoe than a class act with integrity.
He does check off some boxes I like -Has head coaching experience and runs a modern spread offense -He can recruit. His recruiting class rankings: 25th (transition year), 3rd, 3rd, 8th -Has Texas ties
Basically he's the anti-Jimmy in a lot of ways. We aren't getting Fickell or Campbell so Herman might be our best option.
My biggest concern is he was unanimously despised in Austin by the end of last season and the UT administration couldn't wait to cut ties with him. If they thought bringing in Sark would reflect better on the school then what does that say about Herman?

I think that says more about the UT admin than Herman

I wouldn’t be thrilled with Herman but I kind of feel he got a raw deal in Texas, and he was good at UH and he was recruiting his dick off at Texas. Would be a much better hire than Justin Wilcox who is a name that has been floated around.

Would more smooching on the sidelines help things?
