It’s hard to say without knowing the budget. Uw used to spend a lot vs it’s peers nationally. Then it spent a lot vs it’s peers in the conference. Now we just don’t spend a lot so hell if I know.

If you think Jonathan smith is a potential answer though just kill the program.

I think you have to get rid of Lake. I do want to see the PAC 12 level up. No one wants Oregon in the payoffs nationally and it’s hard to blame them.

This is the real issue. UW should not be limited on who they can go after and pay. Current leadership sees this program as a top 25 challenger, not a site for a top ten elite program. The coaches list will be similar to guys WSU goes after because that will be both who displays interest under current circumstances and who the UW will pay fairly. If a better coach lands here it will be because they see an opportunity to run the Pac12, and that vision will not come from the AD.
