Hiring politically corrected dem consultants who will propose more government regulations. The real solution is to free up trucking and provide for alternative US ports not owned by the Longshoreman union. That union drove the big Korean shipping company out of the Port of Portland due to months long work slowdowns. Lost hundreds of Oregon jobs.
End California diesel emission rules which shelved a huge number of diesel trucks from being available in the two huge Cali ports to move containers out of the Port warehouses which have backed up offloading of containers because there is no where to put them.
End AB5 restrictions in Cali on independent contractors who are being forced to become employees. The independent truckers are not employees because they don't want to be and the shipping companies don't want them treated as employees. Only people who do are the Teamster's and the Cali dem leftards.
Drop the federal age restriction for truckers from 21 to 18 to bring in the needed driver's to replace those who retired early because of the chi com crud.
All of the supply chain issues are the intentional creation of shipping choke points by leftards.
Hopefully not. You think Mayor Buttplug would make things better when it is the Biden administration and blue state governors who have intentionally caused the problem? Rhetorical question.
unions are the other big chunk of the problem. If you've been to a port you will see trucks waiting in long lines to enter then load and to exit. Right now it's up to 12 hours. Why? One crane per hundred trucks. 4 or 5 booths for a thousand trucks. All union controlled employee numbers and crane operators etc. etc. etc. Only union drivers at L.A. port don't know how many others but independents can't make any money anyway with wait times limiting you to one load a day. Union drivers paid hourly.
