"They'll march up to Seattle like the Germans did in France high on pervitin like its the most important thing they've ever had"

We? need to be the red army and not be the French thoughCanadawg said:"They'll march up to Seattle like the Germans did in France high on pervitin like its the most important thing they've ever had"

a) I despise Oregon, but give them credit. Phil Knight has given them 600 million dollars over the last 20 plus years, and let it be known there needed to be a significant ROI and their President/AD/Univ/Fan Base said yes sir and have delivered. They WANT, Expect, and aren't afraid to tell you how important football is to their University 1st/2nd/3rd. Essentially they (along with Utah) are the JV Version of SEC it just means more.
b) This place (along with a fringe on twitter) is one of the last places where people still think, voice, reminisce about a time where UW Football mattered to the Univ. and Fan Base in a meaningful way, along with much higher beliefs and expectations of what we thought it could/should be. Sadly there's not enough of us left and you see it in the stadium every year in attendance where 5 of the 7 games this year tickets will be less than the cost of a big mac meal on the secondary market, with as many as you want. As I start to age out as well, after going and seeing what Michigan's game day and the importance of football to that place was, I am not going to drag my ass up to Seattle as often as I have and instead will travel around the country watching teams/schools/programs that are passionate, proud, and deeply committed to the sport. I wish my team had that, at one time did, but that ship has sailed and it's not coming back.
c) Derek- Softy is not buying the Honks line of thinking anymore. After the UCLA game where our game plan of dive/dive/check down short of 1st down/punt netted us 17 points, he or a caller suggested doing something different in terms of off tackle, roll out, etc. One of the Honks said "oh you can't call plays in games that they haven't practiced often in fall camp". Softy fired back and said "so that means none of these kids have every ran a different route or caught a pass before they got here"? Dead silence from both Greg Lewis and Baird as they didn't know hot to answer that in a pro-UW way. But to their credit, even they know Donovan won't be back next year and have stopped defending him.

1. I 100% agree I can't hate Oregon because they care it does not make sense. They take football seriously and are actively trying to win in all sports not only football look at their men and women football teams. In Eugene the Jimmy Lake experience would already be ready unplugged if you combine the recruiting. Additionally, after going to Michigan i'm more interested in attending games with serious fan bases. I am prepared to attend the UT v. Georgia game next week

If you don't mind, snap a few pics of your experience at UT-Georgia and post them in a thread here, a la "Travels with Mabel" starring @LebamDawgATLDawg said:1. I listened to much of it. There was a section where somebody said Oregon's Athletic Department had influenced the Pac12's scheduling of the 2018 season which is how they got a bye week before playing us and how UW ended up with back to back road games ending in Eugene.DerekJohnson said:It was another ugly game, but Washington beat Stanford in the final minute to end a 14-year draught in Palo Alto. Derek, JoeEDangerously and WoolleyDoog talk about the emergence of Carson Bruener, the mysterious disappearance of Kamari Pleasant and how JoeEDangerously has put Jimmy Lake on probation. Also, a look ahead to this week's Oregon showdown on ABC. Shout outs this week go to Jimmy Cornell and Chest.

How much evidence is there that this really happened?
I seem to recall Pete was pretty salty about some of those scheduling issues and reading between the lines I think he was suggesting our AD should be doing more to prevent the shit. -
He was saying he’ll go to his grave thinking that. No evidence other than the structure of the schedule seems to favor Oregon every yearHairyBallsDawg said:

We? will get our shit pushed in today BUT my hatred for them will never cease.
If anything, I’m envious… I want nice things, maybe a win or two, maybe a few recruiting wins.
I hate because they have what I want. I’m a jaded bitch.
