    There are tons of good assistants that are shitty head coaches. Lake isn’t unique. If I were a rival school, I would love it if Lake became the DB coach. I would be content if he became the DC. What he is not, is a head coach.

    The only way he'll ever return to coaching DBs is in the NFL

    He may not have a choice to be honest depending on how bad everything flames out here

    He might take coaching DB’s and a co-coordinator title at Alabama, LSU, etc. I agree he’s probably not doing it and will get better offers. I wouldn’t be shocked if he became DC at USC or less likely, Oregon. He will have options because he had a good track record before becoming a head coach.
