She referred to Jimmy as an "elite recruiter"

    Talk about gaslighting.
Once upon a time so did our experts and fact checkers
Dude was a good recruiter but then he got rich and fat
    No

He was a good recruiter as a position coach

His recruiting performance went down as a DC

He’s poor as a head coach
I would say very good but not elite as a position coach.

He didn't really pursue anyone outside his position as DC so it's hard to grade him there.

He's below poor as an HC.

Yeah, his big gets were Byron Murphy and Trent McDuffie. Both were elite prospects from out of state. I think Budda coming to UW had a lot more to do with Pete and Helfrich than Lake. Lake reeled in other highly regarded prospects like Asa, Irvin, and a few others but he wasn't pulling in multiple top 100 guys a year.

I think it was all Petersen. Lake sucks now, there's no reason for me to believe he didn't before too.

The thing about Pete is that he was respected and very well liked by most prospects and parents. His reputation as a coach exceeded what he deserved, and his reputation as a person exceeded that. He was a huge draw himself based on his exploits at Boise alone (which also don't quite live up to the reputation he gained from his time there).
    Perceptive post. Can't really disagree
