PSA: The comparison with Lake is Gilby
Gilby. Not Ty. The constant Ty comparisons — however true — are going to introduce unneeded optics that will unnecessarily complicate something that should be straightforward.
Gilby was a decent coordinator, took over a relatively talented team from a Rose Bowl winning coach, and plummeted it to 1-11 by year 2 despite the cries of many that his year one 6-6 campaign had all kinds of program killing warning signs.
Lake is Gilby.
PSA over.

Going 7-4 with the roster he had in 93 was a giant red flag
In terms of stupid ass soundbites … Jimmy is feeling more Ty than Gilby to me
Regardless, if you’re being compared to either it should be Door.Ass.Out
2021 so far-Montana and Oregon State should have been wins. He lost. This team is getting worse by every metric imaginable.
6-8 wins, bend and break, overly conservative D. Get up by at least 10 at half and you're really conservative on both sides of the ball and holding on, and the opponent knows it. And absolutely shit offense in need of a Gaskin-type to keep the sticks moving to apologize for bad play calling/scheme (this year that's McGrew).
Pete lost to Utah, Arizona, Cal, Graham ASU, all sorts of teams he should have handled. Jimmy's just done it with Beavlet and Montana (Pete barely scraped by Eastern).
And I was pissed off
Still am
It doesn't seem to matter though
But you catch my drift
Jimmy was part of a coaching staff that got blasted by Alabama.
Advantage: Gilby
Won 8 because he got Hawaii and a super shit schedule in 14. Hawaii, Georgia State, Eastern (they might be a loss now but they gave up 50 to Cyler that year)
I said Jimmy's a bit shittier so don't twist.
There will be a blowout loss somewhere in there from UCLA/ASU/Oregon.
But it's been close losses in every game except Mishitagain.
But now I'm older and little wiser to the ways of the world and the hate is flowing through my like never before.
