you think any 'media members' have a clue about cfb talent? like some jerkoff that writes for the paper in topeka really knows how good any team outside of kansas is?
The west coast talent drain is truly manifesting now. The bottom half of the P12 is MW level good/bad and the upper half isn’t much better. Fifteen years ago a top 6 P10 team would really have to have an off night to lose to a a top half WAC/MW team. Now if you don’t bring your A game then it’s a toss up. May as well merge the two conferences together. They aren’t that different anymore.

Without looking at rosters, Mountain West doesn't send as many players to the NFL as Power 5 and benefitted from the Covid year bringing more of their teams back.
They also didn't play a shitty little exhibition season.
There also is an element of them having better coaching overall than the Pac 12 at the moment. Pac 12's recent hires have been brutal, including UW. MW isn't hiring ex ESPN anchors and some rando QB coach from a crumbling NFL team. Promoting a DB coach. Only WSU has made a somewhat intelligent hire for their resources and he just so happens to suck at the power 5 level.
