Woodward and Romar - food for thought

If Woodward had come out two weeks ago and implied Romar's job security wasn't 100%, do the Huskies win today?

Romar still is a terrible in game coach. That doesn't change.

The last possession of the game was utterly ridiculous. It's not that difficult to design a far better play than what we ended up with.

I've never seen worse big man play in my life. Kemp and Blackwell looked lost out there. Utterly flabbergasting how bad our front court is/was.

No. Do you think they would have?

But let's say Woodward turns up the heat and Romar wins one additional game, does that mean he's a better coach? Would it change Woodward's decision to keep him or not? Maybe Romar just needs more time?

Does Romar get the boot or will Woodward give him one more season for shits and giggles?

With Romar's contract and ties to the Seattle community you simply can't fire him.

    It's sad but true.

But there is no excuse in the absence of a pro team in Seattle for the UW men's program not to be the hottest ticket in town.

He gets another year. I'm not happy about it, but 2015 is over.

I think what people are failing to realize is that Romar is aware and is currently fixing mistakes he has made. He has a new coaching staff and recruiting is getting better. He learned about going all out for Gordon, Parker, and Bird, and coming away with nothing. I'll tell you one guy who isn't questioning Romar's job status and that's Scott Woodward. If Romar was fired, he would get hired by another school in a week.

Everybody wants the one and done's but few understand the damage they cause the program when they leave... or the damage to recruiting when they decide to go elsewhere at the last minute.

Luckily the athletic department isn't run on emotional highs, low's and mood swings of the fan base.

Romar has the full support of his boss.

It is what it is. Fire him, get a new guy, and 10 years from now you will have the same shit. But it doesn't matter. Never has, never will. Keep pretending like UW has a chance to be elite.

You just spouted the KimGrinolds Romar Manifesto word for word there.

Seriously, though. There is almost no way that they will not be worse next year than they were this year. Romar may have learned his lesson with recruiting but the problem is that he dug himself a 3-year hole. Next year they lose their best player and their "best" post player.

    They bring in:
Entienne: A rail-thin 7 footer from Canada who everyone says is at least 2 years away from contributing
Dorsey: Another guy who everyone says needs to develop and some say is just another Hikeem Stewart
Winters:Mike Anderson v 2.0. An unrated role-player JC transfer that came out of nowhere

It's essentially the same crew as last year minus a NWG

The only way they make the dance next year is if NWG becomes an All-American, Andrews becomes a stud and either Upshaw or Jerreau actually produces. I give that a 5% chance of happening. More than likely we will be sitting at #11 or #12 in the Pac this time next year and the usual crowd will be saying"but we have this great recruiting class coming in. We cant fire him now"

Here's a doog neapolitan courtesy of Doogman:

"Who realistically wIll come and stay at UW that is better? Romar is a solid coach not a great one but he is a great man with high integrity unlike many of the presumed great coaches out there that bend or break rules for players like in Kentucky,Louisville, and I highly suspect in Arizona. I'm not saying he gets a pass forever because I know most fans want Ws and don't care how and quite frankly sometimes I even feel that way. Romar has had 2 bad years in a row and was screwed by the committee 3 years ago and now he's terrible...please! He deserves more rope than anyone because he set the bar for the program and will go down as quite possibly UWs most winning and successful coaches."

    Post was dead serious.

    1. The 'who is better' fallacy.
    2. The 'moral character = deserving of job security' fallacy
    3. The 'everyone but us cheats' fallacy
    4. The 'the committee screwed us 3 years ago' fallacy
    5. The 'Romar set the bar for the progam' fallacy

    Amazing.

Same Doogs saying "who can we get who is better?" Said the same shit about Sark.

You'd think after just three fucking months these cunts would realize that fallacy is ignant? Fuck no! That Bellevue CC degree continues to get these dumb fuck Doogs to post nonsense.
