Not Sold on Dylan Morris at Husky QB? PFF Offers a Differing View

People forget that both Lambo and Rick tried to force Tui into a modern offense
Rick giving in to the wishbone won our last Rose Bowl
We can try to be like everyone else or we can try to win with what we have -

Very well could be Tui... difference is one QB was running a triple option in a totally different era of offense and had elite running ability... the other is expected to run a pro style offense.RaceBannon said:1. Can't throw a deep ball.
2. Have a quarter of their passes batted down.
3. Can only throw the ball at one height/pace.
4. Do not take calculated risks.
1 through 3 could be Tui
Not 4 though. He took crazy stupid risks that drove us? crazy
Quite honestly I don't remember the Husky non season
Beat that school up north and let's roll into league play

Morris is more than good enough to win the conference. If our offense isn't in the top 3 in the Pac 12 it will be because of play calling and not letting Morris do what he does best which is roll out and throw on the run. If we plant him in the pocket like he's 6-5 with a cannon arm and force him to go through the progressions on long-developing routes then we're fucking stupid... but I suspect that's what we're going to do.

He’s a statue in the pocket and a mental midget but still.BroadcastingDawg said:
I'm pretty sure the criticisms of Eason were that he was a statue who lacked touch. Turned out to be rather accurate.RoadDawg55 said:The jumping to conclusions after four games is stupid. Morris could be average. He could be Baker Mayfield. He’s probably somewhere in between. Some of the Morris haters sucked off Jacob Eason. Nuff said on that.
That said, would have loved to see him throw to wideouts not named Baccellia and Fuller... unfortunately the UW staff thought running midgets w. stones for hands was smarter than giving Bynum and other guys a serious look.
Agree that it took way too long to get Bynum on the field. -
He's played 4 games in a joke of a season. I stopped reading when you started analyzing. LIPO with DyMo.BroadcastingDawg said:"There is the matter of 5-star recruit Sam Huard joining the program and needing to play some, because, well, he's a 5-star prospect. He can spell Morris when needed. A lot of fans want that to happen sooner than later.
Then maybe they can boo him, too."
Love how Raley blames the fans for not giving into Morris's short comings.
Wonder how many QB's the last 20 years have won a natty who:
1. Can't throw a deep ball.
2. Have a quarter of their passes batted down.
3. Can only throw the ball at one height/pace.
4. Do not take calculated risks.
And that's not to say there's things I don't like about him. He's a fiery little dude who clearly wants to win. He seems to be a good leader. He's not a bad QB... but he's a game manager. He lacks the physical abilities needed to take an offense to the next level. -
I don’t think it’s impossible, but nobody except maybe Alabama could win a title without a top 5 QB in today’s college football. It would take luck and a dominant team to win without a great QB.RatherBeBrewing said:Wow, it’s like Greg McElroy, Craig Krenzel, and Ken Dorsey didn’t even exist.
All they needed to complement them and win a title was a blue blood program’s roster stacked with early round round draft picks, future NFL stars, and/or the most talent laden team in the history of college football. Plus, coaching staffs with a history of high level success. That’s it, nothing more.
UW needs a sure fire stud at QB to be in the conversation. Without it, our ceiling is being a good, but not great team. -
QB recruiting hasn't been great
We hope Sam is. Its not like Mahomes and Brady got passed over to play Dylan
Huard will get his shot at the job this year. And next.

Reads like it was written by somebody that hasn't watched the games but just read some complaints on this forum.BroadcastingDawg said:"There is the matter of 5-star recruit Sam Huard joining the program and needing to play some, because, well, he's a 5-star prospect. It is fine with me if somebody beats out Morris -- but nobody has yet.
We won the Pac 12 North in 2020 with him at QB, and our only loss isn't on him at all.
Morris is good enough for us to win the Pac 12 -- any doubts I have about our roster are at other positions -- not at QB -- at all. -
When did Morris get boo’d? He deserved it for the first half against Utah. Stanford was more of whole team shit show the first half and the team should have been booed.
We aren’t a cutthroat fan base. That line from the article is soft. Nobody ever was booed for playing well. -
Billy Joe Hobart got booed in 92 at home during the Wisconsin game.
