Biden gets about a quarter of his 2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill

President Joe Biden said he’s reached a tentative deal with a group of Democratic and Republican senators on a bipartisan, $559 billion infrastructure plan that would fulfill one of his top priorities.
“We have a deal,” Biden told reporters after the senators presented their agreement to him at the White House. But he said the bill would move alongside separate legislation that would spend hundreds of billions more on what he calleed “human infrastructure” that the GOP opposes.

“There is going to be a two-track system,” he said. Earlier, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said her chamber wouldn’t consider the bipartisan deal without the accompanying legislation, which Democrats will attempt to pass through the Senate using the so-called budget reconciliation procedure that prevents a Republican filibuster.

(that's how we got Obamacare)

(The GOP was too gutless to ever use this procedure because the democrats squealed)

“We didn’t agree on everything,” Portman said, adding that the group also would begin reaching out to other lawmakers to build support.

The meeting with Biden marks a significant step forward in the effort to put together a package of infrastructure spending that can draw enough votes from both parties to get through Congress.

In addition to receiving Biden’s backing, the senators must get congressional leaders of both parties on board to assure support in the evenly divided Senate, where 60 votes will be needed to get the legislation passed under regular order.

Actually, reconciliation was used to pass the Trump tax cuts as part of budget reconciliation. The infrastructure bill technically isn't subject to reconciliation. Obamacare was passed 60-39 with 60 dem senators voting yes and zero republican senators voting yes and didn't need the figment of reconciliation.

At least that way you don't have to tax your memory with much data

Is it a bar if it's on or under the ground?

Joe Manchin might be the most powerful man in Washington right now.

He is the patsy right now. With the rat party there is always someone running cover for the moderate rats who are coming up for re-election.

Manchin was chosen to be the focus hard line. The far left rats can hate him all they want but they aren't going to be able to throw him out of office. The moderate rats can claim they felt the same as Manchin and be shielded from the damage that is being done by the far left rats who are controlling things right now (the border, telling our school children that are white that they are racists and come live in a horrible country, the crazy increases in violence, etc.). The party is shielded from the far left. They had to make concessions and manchin took the hits from the far left rats.

Swallwell, Schumer, etc., etc., etc., have all played the foil over the last decade or so. This is standard fare. The problem for some inexperienced rats like the Abrams idiot who killed the Baseball All Star game in Atlanta and the idiot who Warnock who also did the Abrams thing and lied and said that it was never about Voter ID, they blew the cover of Manchin. You notice that you haven't heard a peep out of those two dumbshits since they first tried to come out and say Voter ID was OK. They shut their asses up real quick.
