I'm not going to pretend to be an expert and predict the ramifications if UBI is implemented.

But on the surface it eliminates some issues while showing some compassion to those who need it.

I just like ideas that are different than the status quo(when it's clearly not working).

I would entertain giving kids a set dollar amount to not have children until they're 25. Instead of having 3 kids out of wedlock, maybe 5-10k/year would be enough to use some birth control.

Sorry, UBI is a horrible idea. We're now seeing the effects of a defacto UBI on labor and material supplies, and (at least transitory) inflation. I get the POTENTIAL as an improvement over the existing system of transfer payments, but that is beside the point. My preference is for reforms that include a gradual draw down in transfer payments, added work incentives, and a move to the privatization of programs like social security and medicare.
